after using the laptop as my main rig for almost a month all i can say is wow this laptop is better then my old desktop by far and should last me a long time. I only have a few gripes about the machine

    1) I had 1 OMFG 1 white dead pixel right in the center that really pissed me off at first but when im playing games i barely notice it anymore.

    2) some times if i had the laptop open and turned off for like a day it would take about a min b4 the screen finally comes on its like it was taking a long time for the pixels to finally light up

    3) the onboard sound was good but nothing compared to my desktops audigy 2 zs so i got a audigy 2 notebook :)

overall a great laptop i mean there could have been alot more problems with it and im happy it didnt have 2 in the center or even 3 lol

Thanks for posting your impressions andebad. We like to hear feedback!

Dead pixels are always a letdown...I have one in my desktop's LCD. It is bright green - annoying but I don't even notice it anymore.

    Congrats on the awesome laptop.

I second Andebad's praise for the 5720. It's an amazing machine. I expect it'll last me a minimum of two years. I haven't seen any dead/stuck pixels on my screen. I rotate several colorful wallpapers, so if a bad pixel has developed, I don't see it... and I'm NOT gonna look for one!! :p

Don't most places replace the lcd if you have a dead pixel in the center quadrant? Just curious. If it doesn't bother you then don't worry about it.
