Still unwrapping it. Going to run benchmarks in a bit, then hope to do some OCing later today/this week (going to need a bit of help though, will be my first time Overclocking).

It appears to have 1x stuck pixel (I believe that's the type it is). It changes colors with the background, but is always a little off. Unfortunately it's also near the middle of the screen =(. Other than that no "dead" pixels though.

I think you can get a new screen at no cost (for the standard warranty).... if there are ANY dead/stuck pixels in middle quadrant of the screen.

contact your vendor... they will handle it for you.

Congrats on getting the beast finally. :)

that thing is still going to be stiff competition for top performing notebooks for a while.

You can't tell it's there unless it's loading something or the standard windows background is just chilling there...I'm not too worried. Not worth another month wait for a new screen. Shouldn't be a problem in games or apps... Vantage is going to take about a day to dl here, so scores will have to wait. Is there a trial version of 3dmark06? I don't want to buy both, but i'd like to check my 06 score as well.

    Installing:
    google chrome
    supcom
    demigod
    fallout 3
    assassins creed
    steam
    fraps

fps results soon to follow (in a day or so)

it should not take a month to switch LCD panels.

it takes less than 10 minutes for an person that has experience.

I recommend to contact them about it and find out the turnaround time if you were to send it in.

... and don't forget to install RivaTuner. ;)

Ah, you forget that I'm in Iraq. It wook a little over 3 weeks to get here...so another 7 to get it there, install and back.

I purchased directly from sager, as they were the only one still selling the SLI model when I finally had to funds to advocate my purchase.

yea, I won't forget riva, and ntuner, and cpu-z and gpu-z...I'd kill for cable internet, this 15k bs is killing me.

just installed my razor lacheise... gonna be interesting getting used to this mouse.

oh yea forgot you were outta country.

hmm.... well I recommend you get the LCD swap when you have down time.

Or you can contact them and ask them to cross-ship you a new LCD panel. :)
... then you can do the swap yourself.

Also, my gpu driver version is 7.15.0011.7948.

What's the most stable driver version for my setup? I heard the newest one was still buggy. Links would also be much appreciated, everything's moving pretty slow with all my dls going.

GamingACU: i have the same config like yours i use Dox Optimized driver v185.68 its very stable and have very good performance in game and even in benchmarks the best think in this driver is that my idle temps with low fan is drop from 45 to 39 dont how but its from the driver i'm sure i try 185.81, 185.85 and only with 185.68 i get this low temps

    thx for the driver suggestion.

So far all I've been able to benchmark is SupCom and Demigod... my internet keeps dying before 3dmark finishes...

Demigod- high (60dps solid, I think that's the max since it never went above it)
Sup Com- High, during fights (22 avg, 18 low, 30 high.) During non-combat (45 fps avg)
Assassins Creed - Max settings (30fps...this seems kinda low for such an old game)

I have to say, for running a web browser, dling from the internet, installing a game, and running a game, this thing is running super quiet, and is barely warm (except for the power source which is scorching hot).

regarding that stuck pixel (which it seems like seeing as it changes colors), try jscreenfix first to see if you can get rid of it.

    jscreenfix didn't work.

Also I downloaded drivers 185.68 and when i tried to run them I got this error:
"can not open file 'C:\users\nick\downloads\18568_vista64.exe' as archive

is there a certain way I'm supposed to load new drivers?

Try redownloading. Most proabble it got damaged. If you have slow connection I recommend to use a downoload manager.

I agree, that seems very low, and low enough to notice when playing. I don't believe I measured FPS when I played this game, but I do remember it feeling lightening fast.

Your 3DMark06 graphics scores should tell you if your GPU performance is "in the ballpark". For reference, my SM2/SM3 scores are:

    SM 2.0 Score 6321
    SM 3.0 Score 6702

Your scores should be at least this high. (Vista might drag your scores down a little, but your faster GPUs should more than make up for it.)

Congrats on your new machine and good luck with it!

Why change your graphics driver before you have really tested it? The driver that came with my np9262 is perfectly fine and I felt no need to change it. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

Who said anything about fixing? It`s about getting the last tid bit of performance out of the laptop.

Why use so much $ and don`t use it with its full potential.

The driver that came with my m860, 176.xx or something are soo bad compared to todays drivers. No software OC for instance.

Just ran 3dmark vantage with stock drivers/clocks:

    P9660/ GPU 7925

That's pretty weak, I'm sure I can do better.

    Edit: Just updated drivers:

I heard the newest drivers were causing heat problems, so I'm sticking with the DOX drivers for awhile. I followed the instructions on the site, and it seemed to install fine, but I'm not positive what a clean install is.

I'm going to try some overclocking tomorrow, see if I can bring my score up.
