Well, just checked my bank account this morning and was extremely happy to find that Alienware refunded my account without short-changing me! So, immediately I went over to XoticPC and selected my computer with the excitement of a little girl in the barbie aisle of the toy store. Here's what I bought:
- Display: 17" WUXGA 1920x1200
- Arctic Silver: Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
- Processor: ~Intel Core 2 QUAD Q9550 2.83GHz
- Video Card: SLI ENABLED DUAL (2) 8800M GTX 512MB PCI-E
- Ram: ~ 4,096MB DDR2 800 (2 SODIMMS) D
- Optical Drive: ~Combo 8x8x6x4x Dual Layer DVD +
- Primary Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 5400RPM (Serial-ATA II)
- Secondary Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 5400RPM (Serial-ATA II)
- Raid: Raid 0-Stripe
- Memory Card Reader: Internal 7-in-1 Card Reader
- Bluetooth: Internal Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR
- Wireless Network: Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 496
- Camera: Built in 2.0 Megapixel Camera
- TV Tuner: Built-In Multi Region TV Tuner w
- Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster X-Fi
- Operating System: ~Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit I
- Warranty: 3 Year Parts/Labor Warranty 24/7
I can't wait until I get my computer, even forked out the extra cash for 2 day shipping. Any comments on how cool the machine is? Should I buy a notebook cooler? And overall how reliable are these computers?
Thanks for reading and answering my (probably stupid) quetions!![]()

ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
bad move ya gonna regret it
only joking
nice setup, very nice set up.
im loving mine and thats only with 2GB ram, 1 x 8800m GTX and 2.33 dual core -
What are your 3DMark scores?
-
ArmageddonAsh Mangekyo Sharingan
just over 9,000 but someone with the same setup as me got around 9,500 so its most likely due to drivers, but im upgrading to Vista Ultimate and adding a second HD 320GB so that should push it up abit i hope. but i dont really mind about the 3DMark scores anyway
-
get the zalman NC2000 Cooler too.. it will keep things very cool and your fans wont be on all the time.
so far i have had mine since February and have been running it 24/7 every couple of weeks. only time i turn it off is to clean the vents. -
Nice config. Indeed a powerhouse...woot
-
You will absolutely not regret your switch to Sager/Clevo! I know you will not have any remorse or second thoughts. Enjoy!!

I can concur with the KICKASS rating this desktop replacement (notebook) gets. I have the same one (with a Q6600 instead) and it SCREAMS! This IS without a doubt the fastest most powerfull notebook on the planet (for now). This is MY first notebook that replaces a die-hard desktop user.
The only thing that grinds my gears are USB ports only on 1 side and the weird keyboard/keypad layout.
The icing on top would have been a LED light at the top, but otherwise, KICKASS! -
Awesome, glad to know that I went with the right one. I started to feel concerned with whether the M17x I previously ordered would actually worked, so I promptly canceled it. I'll buy that Zalman cooling pad to keep things extra cool, and I'll be using an external keyboard and mouse for gaming most of the time.
Haven't been this excited to get something in mail since I built my desktop rig. -
"Release the Beast" that should be the motto!
That's one super laptop you got there! You won't regret it!!!! I wish I had one! -
Just bought that Zalman cooler, which should be here probably by Friday. My machine went into production, so in 3-7 business days I should be posting with pics and 3DMark scores!
-
Curious... Why did you get windows vista ultimate instead of home premium?
-
I don't know just felt like it lol
-

The keyboard on the NP9262 is very awkward at first (being an avid desktop keyboard user myself). You do adjust to its smaller keys and what not. The only thing is to type slower than normal, and look at the keys. It took me about 2 weeks to adjust.
-
Yeah that's kind of what I'm expecting, I've typed on numerous laptop keyboards and I will always enjoy the feel of a desktop keyboard, but I'm sure I will get used to it. I'm just glad that it's full size and not overly compact.
-
You can always do like me and get an external cordless keyboard. SO much easier...
-
wish I could afford one
do you mind to give me the extra buck between m17x & Sager 9262 as charity -
hi, would like to know, where to you order this amazing machine from? www.sagernotebook.com? or... ?? thanks..
-
leonyeo1001 check the other thread that you created for a reply
-
heh heh no laptop config will ever impress me again after seeing blacklightnings rig. 3 ssds...... Christ
On topic: i think xotipc offers a cooler with the lappie dont they? It should be i the config page -
And yeah, that rig with 3 SSD's is just unbelievable. -
SHIPPED TODAY!!
Got an email from UPS with a tracking number just a few minutes ago, although the package weight only said 1lb, and it stated it was ground, not the 2 day air I paid for. Maybe that will change when UPS actually gets the package
I want to thank the Xotic guys for shipping my computer in FOUR business days!!!
Way better than the two months wait for Alienware!
Can't wait to get this baby. -
-
Yeah I just had a few PM's with Justin. It was my soundcard which shipped, but he said that they ship accessories the same day they ship the actual computer, so I should have my tracking number for my laptop by tomorrow morning.

Read your shipping confirmation carefully...it is unlikely that it is the NP9262 just as Shyster1 says, it is more likely an accessory that you ordered and the laptop will ship later.
-
Just got it today! Typing on it now. Awesome, awesome awesome is all I can say. Getting drivers worked out then gonna install 3DMark. I took plenty of pics too.

SWEET
-
I was so surprised. That's with everything stock, updated drivers only. That score is double the score of my desktop.
-
Excellent to see you are satisfied! If you think the 3DMark score is crazy, then load up a demanding game (not crysis, 'cause that will make any current and reasonably priced system cry uncle). Then as you are playing and having fun, it will suddenly hit you; "...this is a laptop"! That realization has hit me several times.
-
Installing Oblivion as we speak.
-
very nice scores skidude!! sigh now im tempted to change my CPU to a Q9550 or later on a Q9650
-
Once the next series of processors come out and the prices of the q9xxx procs drop, I will be all over them as well. Nice scores there Skidude. I hope she serves you well and long.
-
It better lol I'm a poor college kid now
-
That's all within acceptable range. You are using max fans right (Fn + 1)?
-
Oh man didn't even know that was possible with this! That helps out a lot, I don't really care about noise. It wont damage the fans to run them at max all the time right?
-
how much total cost you?
-
$4,681.01 Usd
