    Woohoo!

After a month-and-a-half of research, anticipation, and flip-flopping, I too have finally decided to join the ranks of Sager/Clevo owners. I decided to buy from MALIBAL. They were very helpful in clearing up any of my questions too, I might add. :D

    Here's what I got for my 33% work usage, 67% gaming/media laptop:

I already have all my accessories purchased too! I have a 160GB Intel 320 SSD I bought during Black Friday at Newgg. I know it's a SATA II drive, but the price and capacity of it made it a no-brainer for me, as I am already thinly stretching my personal budget.

I got a Lite-On external DVD burner on-sale at Newegg. I grabbed a Logitech G500 mouse off Amazon on Black Friday. I even bought a tube of Arctic Cooling MX-4 from MWave to repaste this baby once it arrives. I have a Ful laptop backpack bought on-sale at Costco. Now I just need to buy a SPDIF adapter and a DVI cable to get it hooked up to my A/V receiver and 46" HDTV.

well i just bought my 8150 and its exactly the same config as yours.

all i can say is if you dont love it then you have serious mental issues.

the wifi card is insane it picks up perfect reception here. before i was getting only 1 bar.
the screen is something else im suprised people dont praise it more. its flawless its not rgb but for a standard 1080p screen it kicks serious . very sharp very bright and great viewing angles.
the 6990m is wickedly fast. even at native resolution on 3dmark vantage i score 11000 lol. just to give you an idea of how powerful it is at 1080p
it cant max out all the games though. i was expecting it to max out all games
it can max crysis 1 and 2 out and thats a nice plus. crysis 1 is something to show off your computer with. and with 8xaa and veryhigh i average 40fps and for crysis that is very smooth. bf3 runs ultra textures and everything else high at about 40-50 fps so its not like im missing anything graphics wise it looks identical to ultra. but ultra setting im getting 20s. but trust me when i say no game truely needs to be maxed out to look its best anyways. crysis 2 for example looks better with advanced settings less blurry and a nicer look and you get the performance boost. crysis doesnt need to be maxed either you can lower object quality to high and lower shadows to high and it looks identical to all veryhigh but runs faster. another big game skyrim however will run at 40-60fps completely maxed out. the only games i cant max out are metro 2033(boring game and dx9 high looks identical to dx11 veryhigh, kinda dumb to try dx11 and very high in the first place, but metro 2033 is weird that way its graphics dont improve past dx9 high and your an idiot for wnting or using veryhigh dx11) and bf3 it cant be maxed out but its like metro2033 high=ultra graphics wise so your not losing any image quality which is sort of lucky in a sense cause some games simply look better the higher you turn up the settings. gta eolc will not run completly maxed out either you will have to lower the sliders. gta IV however runs at 52 fps avg all maxed. another game that cant be maxed out is saints row the third. i get like 25-30 fps its playable but i dont consider it fast enough to say my laptop maxes it out. ugly game anyways but suprisingly fun.

in short: 6990m plays all games with maximum IQ but not max settings and my gut says this gpu will last. and i mean last. until the new consoles come out i dont see this gpu being beaten by new releases it will hold its own for 3 years at 1080p

    That's what I like to hear. :D

I'm going to baptize it with BF3, Skyrim, and maybe Witcher 2. By the time I'm finished with those, Mass Effect 3 will hopefully be out. So many games for the 6990m to massacre, so little time!
