I bought it from XoticPC. The entire ordering process and payment process {I needed a different schedule due to my banks policies} was easy they really went out of their way to assist me. I fully reccommend XoticPC
It came a day late {UPS screwup-I'd reccommend FedEx}. UPS doesn't give refunds during December so even though I paid extra for a quicker delivery and it did not happen, I am out the money for the upgraded delivery.
I paid for an upgraded backpack {I was worried about PVC on the briefcase that comes with it--I am allergic} and they sent the briefcase as well as the backpack. I was not expecting this, but my mother-in-law gets a new laptop briefcase for Christmas.
The packaging was solid. My one gripe was that the cord from the Power Brick was very tightly coiled. I don't like electric cords being that tightly coiled; generates heat, breaks and shorts. Not likely to be a problem, just one of my idiosyncrasies from previous experience. I spent a good ten minutes straightening the cord out {Yes I am a little OCD at times}.
Sager took off the Windows XP activation code tag and placed it on the bottom of the laptop. This made for some unease on my part before I found the note saying that this was done. And like a fool, I had started the loggin on process before I had seen this. And being scared of shutting the laptop off, I lifted the front and tried to read the tag on the bottom with a flashlight and 45 year old eyes....not a good combination and I got a couple of the numbers wrong which added to my consternation because I found that not all of the keyboard is allowed when inputting the alpha-numeric code.....I thought I had a keyboard where the 0 and o didn't work {Q was the required response}.
I spent several hours playing last night and was impressed. A wonderful new toy. And with the only complaints being user errors and UPS which I have never been impressed by.

I didn't turn it all the way over to read it. I justlifted the front. It was dark under the laptop necessitating a flashlight to read the small print. It's hell getting old.
Yes, it is standard, but the other two laptops I've had I didn't have a problem. One was a refurbished laptop and everything was loaded and set up. The other had the activation code written on the manual, so I've never had to go searching for it.
All in all, A great machine. -
not a problem.
and yes i would have to agree.. great machine.
