    Hi everyone,

I finally got my Sager 2090, and I have a few issues.
My 2090's specs are in my signature, if you need any other information to help address these issues feel free to ask. Thanks.

    1. My computer seems to go into sleep mode after a few minutes even after i disabled all of the sleep power options and screensaver options.

    2. I can't get Ubuntu to work (i believe this to be an issue ubuntu is having with the 8600GT

    3. The drivers that came with the 2090 for the integrated camera don't seem to work

    4. I was wondering with the battery coming out of the back, which laptop coolers/ laptop stands/ laptop covers would be good for the Sager 2090?

#1 is the most important issue to me since it can get very irritating to have the computer shut off while you are reading something; but if i could get help to the rest as well i'd greatly appreciate it.

regarding the webcam... can you be more specific as to how it isn't working?? any programs in particular you are trying to use it with?

as for the sleep function.. it sounds like you've installed watchdog which sleeps your computer when you aren't there using ur built in webcam... which if malfunctioning could be the problem (or you are just leaving ur computer for a few minutes)

which OS r u running?? Ubuntu only?

ok so regarding the webcam, the computer doesn't recognize it but when watchdog is on it seems to work... is there another program for it? and when i uninstalled watchdog it got rid of the problem so i guess that was the issue... kinda weird program if you ask me... I am running Vista Business currently and will soon try to get Ubuntu working on my 2090 as it seems that its kinda complicated(although I will try Lemur's fix soon)

Anyway so do you guys happen to know of which are the best accessories (laptop cooler, stand, sleeve) are the best for this computer? I would really like to get your guys' input on that as I haven't really bought any laptop accessories in the past.

Let's try to consolidate Linux on IFL90 questions to this thread. Or you can post a comment on my page. That will help everybody interested to know what is going on.

Since the watchdog is a Windows thing, I really doubt it would have any impact on Linux. I would change my opinion on this if you can find an authoritative reference showing that the watchdog software changes a BIOS setting or something similar.

I was able to get the webcam to show an image both in Windows and in Ubuntu. In Ubuntu I used ekiga. I don't have time right now to get into the details.

as for the webcam.. i had kind of a similar issue in which it wouldn't come up on skype or messenger and when looking into it windows reported the device didn't exist... it still happens but a reboot fixes the issue til... well i'm not sure exactly what happens to screw it up
but try jsut restarting and immediately trying to use the program u are trying to use the camera with
