I may be missing something, but I don't see what video card you are going with...is it the nVidia 7950gtx or the nVidia 8700?

    Thats a nice spec'ed rig. :)

I would recommend to hold off from ordering until after Nov 19 (3 more days) or 20th.

I am confident that there will be official word from the Clevo/Sager front about the 8800M upgrades being available for this and the M570RU models.

I think you need to go with the Arctic Silver 34 Thermal Compound.

Thats exactly what im waiting for... if it will be compatible or not... cause ill probably go with a decent last generation laptop and upgrade it mid next year when the driver will be optimized and when great game will need more power... because the 7950gtx is still doing great even in crisis...

Well...I already ordered it. I was thinking I could do a change order if I wanted to upgrade or make any changes before production. I was told my laptop wouldn't start production until this coming Monday or Tuesday.

Besides, I really don't think I can pay much for the new cards even if I wanted to get it...

For two new 8800 cards, I am figuring it will be an additional $300!

So what's the verdict...any major changes that you all would recommend?

I think I am going to shell out the $190 dollars for the higher resolution screen which about caps out my budget.

I would spend the extra 190$ on the screen. I wasn't sure and a friend talked me into it and I am glad that he did now. The 8700's are a good card despite the rep it gets. But if you have the money and time you might wait for the 8800's if not the 8700's won't make you cry about buying them that is for sure.

And XOTIC PC Rocks in my opinion!

    my 2 cents here...again :p
..even though 8700 GT is a good card (especially in SLI), I'd rather go with single 8800 GTX when it lunches - you will probably have the same (or even better) performance and it should come a bit cheaper..and if you ever find it to be too little for your needs, you can add second 8800 GTX later on
..this way you get incredible performance out of the box and great upgrade available at any time..just something to think about ;)

btw. congrats on wonderful DTR! I'd get one of those if college was free lol..so far 2 years went by and I didn't have to take any loan...trying to keep it this way..otherwise I'd be using 9261 already :p

    Cheaper????

How do you figure... I guarentee there will be a hell of a markup on the 8800..

The 8700 is a good card and in SLI it definitely nice...

I personally love the Directx 10 stuff... The detail is quite cool...

I agree there is nothing wrong with the 8700 and in SLI it is worth the setup cost. Personally I think we are looking at around late Feb to middle of March before we really start seeing the 8800's readily available. With a cost of around 500-600$ each. Just my 2cents. So if you want DX10 now then get 8700 it will work well into next year. If you look at the 8700 it was released around June and it took at least 3 months to really start hitting the streets probably closer to 4.
