    I remember that there's a thread on here somewhere about the fingerprint reader software going nuts with resources once in a while. Mine has just started doing this periodically (taking up 20% of RAM and 40-50% of CPU!!). I didn't see any solutions to this - are there any? Updates, patches (besides disabling it of course).. Thanks in advance.

    There is a patch somewhere...I think the new version (already patched) is available on the sager site for the 5793...

    Yeah I used to get that with the old version (5.6?) and after going to the new version (5.8) it's infinitely more reliable and looks pretty sleek, too.

    The issue is software related, not hardware so the model wont matter.
