I have a Sager NP8651/Clevop650se. When i was installing the drivers i did most of them straight from the website since the ones on disk are usually old. Plus i didn't have an external DVD drive to do them. Well, unfortunatly the fingerprint reader drivers dont appear to be on the sager site.
    http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers.php?cat=601

I got an external BD player and tried installing the fingerprint reader drivers from the disc, but it wont install. It tried to tell me they were already there but they are not. I dont see it in device manager and i cant select it from the windows login options. When i run the 'reinstal' process I keep getting to a message that says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable Click Ok to try again or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installer package "Fingerprint Driver.msi" in the box below" And it gives me an option to browse for the file. Default folder its in is Users/Administrrator/APPData/Local/Downloads

What the heck? Anyone know what the problem is? I wanted to do a fingerprint reader option for logging on instead of a password. It seems like its trying to find a file that isn't there. I browsed the DVD but dont see an msi file for this in the fingerprint folder. I'm on a win 10 machine btw.

You can check out the mysn P505 drivers. Should be compatible. http://www.mysn.de/secure/userarea/download.asp under XMG P505 and the Finger.zip. You can try the Win 8.1 Version too I think. Up to you.

I personally used (for a different device but same fingerprint reader and Win10) Win 8.1 Finger.zip and then FingerEgistec.zip.

I have the same laptop (it's a Clevo P650SG), I used the Eurocom drivers and it worked fine.

Silly question, but did you tried setting up fingerprint yet?

Turn it off? I havent even been able to turn it on. Besides the whole point is i WANT to use it so that post was pretty pointless.

As for the other two replies, I'm not sure what those drivers berry posted are. What program/drivers does this laptop use when the installer WORKS? Is the Eurocom drivers ipwn3r456 metnions the ones i was trying to install but were missing the msi file? I tried browsing clevo's site since theres no drivers on the sager one and i THINK this is the right page, correct?
    http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P65xSE&ltype=8&submit=+GO+'

Even assuming thats correct for some reason the win 10 fingerprint drivers do not seem to download for me. Every time i click it cant find the webpage. Is it the same for you guys?

like i said its a Sager NP8651 and i believe the clevo model is ClevoP650SE. THese were the sager drivers from the sager site but it had no fingerprint stuff listed

@ipwn im not sure how to set up the fingerprint. Im totally lost here. The fingerprint option is greyed out in windows 10, and the drivers i had wouldn't install. Like i said it seems to be missing an M SI install file or something. I'm assuming i need drivers and some kind of program together right? Which one is supposed to go with this laptop? I think its a company called Egistek or something like that. Hell, can someone explain how these things are supposed to work in general?

I wish the drivers i had would have worked. Anyone know what the issue was with it? My guess is its missing some kind of install file? When i look in the folder for it all i see is a setup program.

The Clevo p650se is the XMG P505, but without the chrome on the fan exhaust :D. The drivers I mentioned are Finger.zip (driver for the reader) and FingerEgistec.zip (the software that connects the reader to windows, where u register your fingers for the login and such).

Did you set up a PIN first? Windows will not allow you to set up fingerprint (Windows Hello) if you don't set up a PIN first.

Here's the drivers that I used for fingerprint from Eurocom (if you need to install it), check the fingerprint section on Windows 10:

On my former P650SE i used the mysn drivers FINGER.zip, without the egistec software. Just install the drivers and then set-up fingerprint sign-in from windows settings. It works without setting up pin login (for me at least). I am using same method on my current P751DM-G that has the same egistec fingerprint reader.

Windows10 has some issues with the fingerprint device and sometimes, after restart/clean shutdown it does not startup the device (seen as usb device in event viewer) and you cannot login using it. But almost 99% times works after sleep/hibernate.

I have this problem only on win10 but it worked flawlessly on win.81

sorry for the delayed follow up. Was sick then busy for Halloween.

Can someone just clarify how fingerprint login is supposed to work. Do you just need a driver? Or do i need to get a 3rd party software program and a driver, or what? It almost seems like with win 10 you just need drivers since theres an option for it (though greyed out for me) in the settings. I'm looking for clarification in what is required to just get it working. If its just a driver i would prefer that over having to install more uneeded software on the system

If its just drivers where an i get the MYSN drivers myx refers to? Or whichever ones i need

I was having the same issue with the fingerprint thing on windows 10 and couldn't figure out how to get it to work. Turns out the driver did work (I just reinstalled when it said it was already installed)

ipwn3r456 said you need to set up a pin first, so I tried that. As soon as I had a pin set up, the fingerprint option that had been missing came up in that same screen. To get there, just type fingerprint in search and setup fingerprint sign in.

For me I just used windows 10 drivers, they detected all my hardware correctly and everything works from the get go.....but for some reason my laptop installed windows 10 all by it self without me doing anything also so who really knows but good luck, not sure why @clevo-extreme says to just turn it off when obviously you want to use its features lol....

lol maybe they didnt read it well..
Anyway, with s10, no software are needed to use it, if you had install one or more, just uninstall all. Then restart and go to your account manager ( windows key when you push it and then click your little icon where there is your laptop name) Then "change account settings" then "sign-in option" Then set a PIN then down the "windows Hello" message there is fingerPrint option.
    That's all.
Due of lack of software for ws10, you can only use FingerPrint for Log-in.
