    First Matte Screen--Awesome

    Yesterday I received my Sager 8150-S1 from XoticPC with the matte screen. The matte screen is incredible. I've only owned glossy in the past but no matter where I'm using the matte screen, no matter what I'm using the laptop for and no matter how little light there is, I prefer the matte screen. I did not know how badly reflections and dust affect viewing glossy screens until they disappeared on the matte screen.

    I do not think I will buy glossy again on a laptop. If you have the option, purchase the matte screen.

    Thanks for the info - been debating about matte versus glossy and this certainly sways me in the matte direction.

    Spending two seconds on the customization/configuration screen for the 8170 on the XoticPC web site will tell you that.

    I really loved my matte over the glossy I had on my previous laptop too.

    But i got the LG matte screen from sager initially, which had some defects.
    I RMAed the laptop and got back an AUO screen (in sig), which is much better than the LG screen.

    As the matte screens are on back order, how long did you have to wait?
    When did you order when was it shipped?
    Asking because I have on order and am getting a little unpatient.

    I can understand those who are feeling impatient. For me, I placed my order on June 10th with the matte screen and it is still in the production phase. I hope that it will get shipped sometime this week and then arrive next week before the holiday weekend. *hoping*

    I ordered sager np8150-s1 on june 8th and it went into production mode on 10th. I've been informed this morning today that it has been built and it will be shipped today/tomorrow. ignoring the possibilty of backorders you might face, your laptop seem to be nearing to being shipped out. Keep your hopes up!
