I just don't use my notebook without plugging it in. I even have a spare power supply so that I can leave one at home and always travel with the other. So this model sounds great. It'd be hard to step down to 15 inches from 17 though...

I want to see a review of the production model... that one claims to have a 260 and the leather textured palm rest.

Thank you for posting the vids. I can't wait to get mine. This is going to be one of the longest weeks of the month :(

LOL I was thinking the same thing. What ever happened to using the half a grain of rice rule when applying AC5. They must get that stuff a lot cheaper then I do.

Any one who complains about screens and portability needs to use a m17x

and I am with u Kevin that was horrible design :(

Clevo did well and I hope the keep this design and continue to improve. Also I would not trust notebookjournal to every little fact .... But any information we can get now is good

    alli have to say is..

What the hell happend to this laptop in the past month or 2.. it looks horible now.. compleatly unviewable... thank god i didnt wait for i7 15inch..

they hid the ugly dimentions and bloated high of this well.. it looks like its almost 2inch high which is compleat madness for a 15inch.

Looks like ill be trying to keep my M860tu running well for another 2-3 years...

i plan to give it a Yellow Full body matt paintjob and put a new GPU/CPU/SSD/6gig mem/Mabye even a ELED in it when i can decide/options become avalable..

faily sure a Duel running at 3.3 or so and a new gen GPU from next year or the year after will keep this baby serving me well for the Life of Diablo3//SC2

but hey im a sentimental guy... but god hell i wouldnt get sentimental with that laptop.. thats a joke of design CLEVO CRYSIS IS NO LONGER COOL

I never have buyers remorse over aesthetics; I'm a minimalist kind of guy. Personally I think it's a nice notebook. Yes, it's a bit louder than the M860TU, but it's still well within a very professional profile.

When you come back in a year, the same "ugly" notebook will still be here. I can care less if you out benchmark my notebook; I'm not a benchmarker. I haven't run a single benchmark in months. Just know that I am thoroughly happy with my notebook while you are still griping about your M860TU and even it's successor. And I do not wish to waste my time and reference dozens and dozens of your posts to prove it.

Clevo should think about releasing focused literally on gaming-on-the-go. Maybe something like the HP envy 15, or the first 14" notebook with a high performance card ever.

By high performance I mean something with a 256 bit memory bus width or GDDR5 technology. Hmmm... or simply something in Class 1 in this page (I KNOW, "never trust notebookcheck.net", I know.)

It would be difficult to put top tier components into a 14 inch chassis. The number of compromises that would need to be made in attempting to engineer such a notebook would be substantial.

They were high performance discrete graphics for their time. ie 8600M when 8800M was the best.

I like to think that without an ODD drive, it can be possible to cram something like an ATI 4860 into a 14" chassis without cooling problems. Then again it might be easier to just have an external graphics solution. We'll see.

Oh this is completely doable in a 14" chassis.....

Of course it would be 6" thick, but hey! ;)

There are benchmarks of W860CU at Xotic PC forum. There is temperature of CPU up to 90C after 3D mark and some games!!!

I dont think its safe temp, where would the temp go after wprime or orthos????

Hmm, NotebookJournal maxed in the low 80s with a 920QXM, running ATiTool and WPrime simultaneously.

That thing is running as hot as the i7-975 in the NP9280, yowza.

I'd like to see an OCCT CPU burn in for 10 min to really see where that puppy goes. I know the 975 in my NP9280 maxed out around 88-90 with OCCT.

Well, for the few who didn't drop kick their M15x's back to Dell, it would be interesting to see their temps as I've yet to see a 15" with a 44w+ CPU run quietly AND cool yet under even medium load.

I have seen many 17"+ laptops run cool and quiet, though. (Then again, there is the m17, ugh..............)

watch out on the notebookjournal.de review. It looks like they still have the plastic shipping cover over the screen which will make it look even more glossy and reflect more making the screen look darker.

That's nothing My CPU runs at 100-105 degrees around the clock. GPU often gets up to 110 degrees and has to downclock.

I would clean out the fans and apply some new thermal stuff, but I don't have time for that b'cause I'm so cool. :D

I don't know about you, but most of my pizzas need ovens hotter than that. But anyway.

Way, way high temperatures. When your card self-downclocks it's only a few degrees away from permanent damage.
