This seems pretty neat. Backlit keyboard?

EDIT: New leaked specs seem to indicate a yes! :)

That seems very decidedly... low-spec. The HQ CPU is very anti-clevo. The 970M is a powerhouse, but the 4-cell battery? And in a 15.6" model? With 1620p screen support? I don't know. It sounds like it's meant to be a combination of the P150SM-A and the W355SSQ, but... the worst of both worlds? iCPU is a problem, even if the dGPU isn't. I like the higher res screen, but it'll make the 970M perform about as good as a 870M or less would on a 1080p screen. I suppose that's up to the choice of the owner though. But I never like seeing integrated CPU models, especially from Clevo.

Also looks like it's going to be a single-fan model, even if it's a larger fan. Again, do not know how to feel about this. If it's a pure W355SSQ replacement, that's pretty neat. If it's a P150SM-A replacement, we have a problem XD.

    IMAGINE: NEW Clevo Models

EDIT: I have added a poll item to the link above, so that you can let the re-seller know what GPU/CPU/LCD combination you would want to order from them for your new P65xSx.

Not to be shallow, but this is the first Clevo chassis that I've seen that looks classy. I know it's all about the inside that counts, but glad that this isn't another Crushinator 3000 chassis like most Clevo designs.

I always found the clevo laptops to look quite sleek and business-like... I don't know why you say this looks classy XD. Well except the Pxx7xM machines (and the P375SM), those ones look more RoG than anything

A sister system to the SE, but we don't know anything else about it so far. Myself, I'm hoping for a chassis with less angles, and maybe a matte screen.

To be fair, it's purely a personal preference thing for me as far as cosmetic looks go. Clevo designs aren't the crazy Fast'N'Furious LED crazy Gaming laptop and not as simplistic as say a Macbook Pro. They have always just looked plain and "fat", which the exception of the 13.3" model, which I thought looked nice which is what this one seems to be along the same evolution in design.

That said, the images shown are only at certain angles so I'm sure it's only showing the laptop on it's best side.

Fair enough. I will agree that they always looked pretty large and "square". Though I did like that about them. Something about curved laptops never sat fully well with me.

this ia awesome. I can'tt wait to see these babies! Few questions, comments.

Any more specs on the battery? 4 cells seems weird.

Any news on the Chassis? Just classic Clevo plastic or something better?

Is this the thinnest 880M/980M system on earth? If so, bravo Clevo!

Anything on the wifi? I heard theres a new mSATA like wifi coming with possible 3 and 4 g support.

From the mobile maxwell thread, these prices seem a bit higher than usual from Clevo machines... hope they aren't adding a $200 premium for being slim... or is Poland a country with higher than usual pricing?

Why don't they integrate mxm gpu's with double the amount of ram? :(I would love to buy a clevo but they are all quite big and clunky (or too small). I really need maximum ram for the gpu (3D rendering), so I think I will be left with the gigabyte p35w as only option, again. I was really hoping this clevo would be the one, but no they can't seem to make a laptop thin and with mxm cards.

Since the p35w was impossible to buy here (very small amount of stocks or always out of order (in europe)) I will have to wait an eternity again.

Anyone knows if there is anything else in this form factor with 6-8 gb of ram on gpu?

    CLEVO P651SE - GTX 970M - PREORDER - [CLEVO] - BLUEMOBILITY

Not super expensive though. And price will drop after some time from release of course. Still, better price then Alien :p much better

If you understood that thin/light with strong hardware requires cutting out a LOT of other things out of the machine to keep it properly cool (aka HDD caddies, ODD caddies, and sometimes mSATA slots in favour of PCI/e or M.2 drive slots [assuming they're not the same]) as well as lacking in the I/O port availability and such all in the quest of extra space to properly cool those hot chips, you might realize that they're not going to EVER make a top-end chip in a thin-light form factor and have it fully work without issues while giving a laptop that someone can easily make their primary machine.

Secondly, wait until the cards come out. For all we know the P150SM-A or something (which honestly isn't THAT huge) will have the 980M 8GB models. But seriously, stop trying to get fully featured, thin/light, powerful-hardwared notebooks. There MUST be a sacrifice somewhere.

That I completely understand but if Gigabyte did it (p35w v2 with 870m 6gb) why can't they? I'm just a bit disappointed because I couldn't get the p35w v2 (no stocks, huge waitinglist, ...) so I was hoping to have more laptops that fit my criteria so I can buy another one. (like this cleo p650se for example).

Any laptop woud do, I don't care about other specs, just the size of the laptop and the amount of gpu ram (not even the gpu iself it could be an old gtx 880m or gtx870m or a new gtx980m, gtx 970m).

But you're right I think I'm going to have to settle for the clevo p150, just annoying as hell as I've been waiting since april or so to get my hands on a p35w v2. Instead I coud have been using a clevo p150 since then...

As far as I know, a P15xSMx should still cool things better than the p35w v2 (at least, from me looking at the internals), though I will say they did a pretty good job with the p35w v2's internals (from my point of view). On the other spectrum though, it's not like you can toss a 4910MQ and a 880M into that thing and still have it work. The models I've seen don't let you choose anything but a 4710HQ and a 870M, which means that's likely the limit of its cooling (and the 870M is not a particularly hot card).

Remember, there's always a sacrifice somewhere. But yeah, honestly I just suggest waiting for the new cards to refresh because they'll be a lot cooler and such. You don't want a 880M. I can tell you that for sure. If you've been waiting for so long then it's probably not a pressing reason to wait, so don't worry too much; it should be released for pre order like 8-9 days from now. If you want a refresh P15xSMx model, or if you want one of these P650se models (which should be a bit thinner and lighter, but I cannot be 100% sure).

Rumours seem to indicate a 60Wh battery good for 200 minutes or so. Not too shabby.

Anyone got the prices from those European website? Pages were taken down.

What I want all depends on cooling effectiveness of the laptop. While I'd like a 4870HQ and 980m, realistically the chassis may work best with a 4770HQ and 970m. Plus I'd really like to know quality of the three screen options. Personally I'd opt for a 1080p screen as long as it's a high quality fast response panel.

And if it's 60WHr, if it's as efficient as the W230SS, it should get 4hrs+ realistic battery life.

Got to say that for a slim 15.6" with 2 m.2 AND 2 2.5" storage slots, that's a lot of room for storage space, assuming you've got mad duckets, you could potentially have 4TB of storage.

The sequential speed is similar due to higher density. With an ssd as the os drive it's likely a more important figure. Due to the density the small file speed is not all that much worse either.

    I read that it'll only support 2x 7mm bays.

Still 4 SATA Interfaces adds potential for a buttload of storage.

Are you interested in this model?

    Thanks

    Eurocom M5 Future Models

looks like $1799CAD for 4K screen and "4GB gtx xx0m" card (which I took to be the 980m)

I'm hoping they have the 970m as well, and I'm sold.
just waiting on reviews to be posted, and probably pulling the trigger.
