    Hello,
I have a Sager 9150 running the 7970m running driver version 9.10.8.0 from 11/12/12 and Intel HD Graphics 4000 driver version 9.17.10.2875 from 10/17/12 on Windows 7. I attempted to install Windows SDK 7.1 ( Download Microsoft Windows SDK 7.1 from Official Microsoft Download Center) for Windows 7 but ran into the following error:

Installation of the "Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7" product has reported the following error: Signature of the file WinSDK_amd64.msi could not be obtained. Possible unsigned file.

Not sure where to go from here, or if this is even the best forum to try to diagnose this problem. Are there at least official release drivers I could update to to try to make this problem go away?

    Thanks for your help.

As far as I can understand this is in no way related to the gpu. There's not a whole lot of info about that error, but uninstalling c++ redistributables seems to have helped people with various errors but I suggest you try searching first, and read the pages I linked for clues.

"The system files and device driver files provided with Windows have a Microsoft digital signature, which indicates that the files are original, unaltered system files or that they have been approved by Microsoft for use with Windows. Using File Signature Verification, you can identify unsigned files on your computer..." - Source: Microsoft

While that article is specific to XP, the digital signature verification tool is prevalent in every version of Windows. Does the error stop you from installing the SDK altogether? And are you running it as an Administrator? Funny that a file from Microsoft's download center is "unsigned". ;)

This might be better obtained through Windows updates if available.
