    Hello all,

I've had this problem for a few months now, but since I have an external monitor plugged in, it hasn't been much of an issue. But if I use the built in LCD, the LCD image will 'flutter' quite a bit and the image becomes distorted. If I move the LCD a bit or press down on the laptop ( the areas near the LCD on the base of the laptop seem to work best ), the 'futtering' will disappear. Any idea what this may be and what I can do to fix it? Sadly I'm pretty sure my warranty is over.

Most likely you've got a short in the ribbon cable that connects the display unit to the motherboard. This series (the 926x), particularly earlier models, has had some problems with the ribbon cable getting crimped and developing shorts.

The simplest solution is most likely to buy a replacement ribbon cable, and then inspect the original cable as you dismantle the screen to find out where the cable is binding/getting pinched, and make sure you route the new cable to avoid that spot.

How did you go with this issue?
I'm having the same problem, except that I'm getting yellow and scanlines, although pushing in the same spot as you seems to be working as well.

if pushing the spot fixes the issue... then that mean you need to open up our notebook to get to the LCD cable and then:
    1) disconnect it from the motherboard, examine it for any pinches or damage, try to straighten it out if there is
    2) securely connect it back and see if it helped.

if it did not help, you will need to replace that cable...
    - contact your vendor and tell them that you need a replacement for that LCD cable.
