Updated to EC 6 and the Bios 7. I do not have FN+1 Functionality. Is the function solely for a different laptop (I'm on the 9170) or am I missing something?

Also, are the new fan tables they mentioned in both the 7 bios and the 6 EC automatic or can they be customized? Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
Unfortunatelly in P170EM Clevo decided to disable FN+1 functionality, we don't know what was a reason :( I have P170HM ( Sager 8170) and I have FN+1 shortcut and I'm using it from time to time to cooldown my hardware very fast.
Tell you more, Clevo also blocked in P170EM FN+5 shortcut for on/off subwoofer. In P170HM it's very usefull shortcut and in my opinion sound from P170HM is better than in P170EM. Nevertheless that P170EM has label fron ONKYO speakers.
Fan table is adjusted very well in new EC firmware (1.00.06) by Clevo engineers and you can't change it, even with software for Windows. There are no plans for release a BIOS when user can adjust fan table by themselves :(

It's very weird becouse in P150EM (15'' inch model) FN+1 shortcut works

I can confirm that my NP9170 received from Sager last week (through XoticPC) has FN+1 mapped to enable full fan speed. I believe I've read somewhere on here that the FN+1 feature was a specific request by Sager directly to Clevo, hence only Sager built machines will have this feature.

OP, you have a Sager and you switched to Clevo BIOS? Do I have that correct? If so, then that's how you lost the Fn+1 control. :/

Long story short yeah I did. I misread somewhere I needed to in order to get the Fn+1 control. I never had it. My original bios was the 04 one from Sager.

I have been kicking myself because it was the one time I didn't really follow up on information before I did something. Great job on my part. Looks like I have to follow Prema's idea and hope that the /shutdown command can save me. :D

I impressed myself in this latest miss-step lol.

You just need to reflash the EC Firmware then BIOS. If you have a Sager NP9150, then download the EC firmware and flash it then the BIOS and flash it.

Download it here: 9150 1005 BIOS and EC (stock with Fn+1).zip (password np9150)

I got an automated Bios directly from sager to update bios, can't remember if it updated the EC, would it?

    +rep

Flashed the EC alone and now have FN+1.

Just note that the Sager BIOS could brick some non-Sager machines.

Going from a Clevo bios to a Sager bios actually bricks machines. Since the standard pattern is to flash the EC, restart, then flash the Bios, flashing the Clevo EC and restarting often causes the Sager bios to fail.

So if you have a Clevo bios flashing to Sager can kill your machine. If you have a Sager bios flashing to Clevo is easy. That is my issue, I flashed to the Clevo bios with intent to gain and now run the risk of Brick mode going back.

Oh. Well, I need to be a bit more educated it seems, what updates are you running in yours? (Besides, your Meaker, that 680m is legendary, I can trust you!)
