Hey guys I'm getting tired of the seemingly random gaming performance I get from my 7970m whenever I update the drivers on it, even installing the same drivers seems to give different performances in games. I know there are alot of different methods out there that people swear by even I had a method that I believed worked well until I installed 13.6 and I started noticing lower fps's than my previous driver in certain games. I would have thought by now though with the time that the 7970m has been out there may be some sort of well regarded method that should ensure stability and good performance with every new driver install or are most people still trying different methods and crossing their fingers every time they install a new driver? Thanks for any help in advance

If you want a completely fool-proof method and are willing to put the time in, completely clean your computer with the win7 disc. Give it a full clean.

Other ways are all pretty hit and miss. It's tough updating and removing drivers because bits and pieces are often left behind, resulting in declining performance. Put everything you need on an external hard-drive, "ghost" your laptop, and install every updated driver.

Finally a method that seems to work consistently, installed a couple of drivers now after using this method and I'm getting a decent increase in fps in most of my games, I know it seems like a long winded method but I would recommend this method to anyone looking to get decent fps on their enduro enabled laptops. Thanks + liked Prostar!

Hey Fordy, I'm glad it worked! Utilities like Driver Sweeper are known to delete data that actually does more harm than good, and once those registry values are gone, it's a pain to remedy without at least a restore point.

Now go enjoy your laptop. :) And thanks for the kudos!
