Hello to Sager/Clevo 680m owners. As you can see in my sig, I own a 7970m, but am curious about your performance in the games you play. Feel free to leave benchmarks reports, screenshots/videos, temperatures, overclocking experience, possibly utilization issues (if any), etc. I hope this will give us a better picture of how the 7970m in it's current state compares to the GTX 680m in the EM models.

Hello mate! Even though i am not yet a owner or a Clevo P170EM since i didn't order it yet but i will in the end of this week (at least i hope i finally will)!
When i do receive my Clevo P170EM i will do some extensive benchmarks with games and benchmark programs and will post them here
Take care -
I have owned both. My temps were 84C with my 7970 with no OC. 74C heavily OCd on the 680m. Fps went up from 34 to 50 with the 680 in the secret world. Both Batman's gained about 18fps. Skyrim gained about 10 in most areas. In busy towns my framerates were much more stable. The witcher 2 two gets about 12 more fps. Those numbers were stock clocks on both cards and I was having enduro issues in all games. One thing that is really evident is how much more stable the numbers are. The 680 m deviates from avg fps far less. A lot of my screen tearing and artifacting has been reduced with the 680 and the microstutter I got in skyrim at around 60fps is gone. I'm very happy with the upgrade and think it was worth 295, but money wasn't an issue for me so i know why the 7970m is so appealing. I didn't want to switch as I wanted to support the underdog, but amd and their lack of support concerned me and I had no faith in them fixing it.
I'd post more details but I'm on vacation and am typing this from my phone -
The general consensus is that the 680m does not suffer any issues similar to the 7970m, or anything at all.

My only issue is low GPU utilization in GTA4 (40-60% tops) but this is due to drivers (I'm on 304.79 with the modded inf from laptopvideo2go) and the fact that the game is not very well optimized. Everything else maxes out the utilization where it's required (Unreal 3 engine games hover at 60% or so, but that's because it's a solid 60fps 95% of the time).

I've ran Battlefield 3, Need For Speed The Run, and Deus Ex. Battlefield runs at 30-50 fps on ultra, The run is at 70 fps on ultra, and Deus Ex is at 60 fps on ultra. my temps are normaly under 60 degrees celsius but sometimes go over but not much higher.

I can only really comment on The Witcher 2 as that's the game I've played the most. I would say my frame rates average around 50-60FPS on mostly-Ultra settings.
It's OC'd fairly conservatively (854 GPU, 2200 RAM). Temps (during Witcher 2 play) usually get to around 80-82C and hover there, so I might need to check or re-apply my TIM.
Quick addition: I just got done playing Crysis 1 for about half an hour. It plays buttery smooth (at 24fps with vsynch on) with all Ultra settings plus 8xAA at 70C. Both games were output to my TV at 1920x1080.
Other than the Witcher 2 temps I am extremely happy with it. The Witcher 2 looks phenomenal (best looking game I've ever seen) and is perfectly playable. Crysis 1 is of course gorgeous and plays very well. -
edit: oh, just saw you have a Notepal U3 with 6 fans... -
Everything run smooth and fun here. I am glad I got the 680. I have had 0 issues with my games run smooth.

It's not that big of a deal...
-
it lowers my temps about 4C i also noticed that my VRAM seemed more stable at 2400 with the notepal blowing air right on them through those vents
-
Would the U2 be sufficient? I don't see why you would need 3 fans...where would the third one go? Plus, the U2 seems like it'd fit the NP9150 better...
-
In that regard, I think it complements the Clevo's conservative approach perfectly. -
anyone with the gtx 680m experiencing the audio headphone interference?
-
The third fan goes over the vents for the CPU and VRAM
-
You can order the 3 fans separately if you want them on the U2.

For 680m owners - how is it going?
