I want another Sager. Just need more battery life. Otherwise superb machines in every respect. Would really like to see an AMD build however, bring cost down as well as give Intel a run for their money.

Well update on my RMA'd P180hm from Eurocom. It came back today in perfect condition, and its now running correctly. I havent checked the serial #'s on the cards or MB yet, but was told one of the video cards only was defective(My tests showed both failed).........regardless the cards now run all the benchmarks without BSODing or freezing up. So my experience with dealing with them is a mixed bag overall.
A. Dealing with Eurocom's online account manager was a PIA and felt like pulling teeth, never could get a direct phone #, and a few of the emails I was sent showed a bit of arrogance on stating they've never had a failed unit sent out with the ISO blah blah blah certification etc.
B. But they did pay for both ways on shipping(After I complained about recieving a laptop that was defective upon recieving)and the turn around time including shipping was reasonable(About 9 days total), plus the techs one the phone were realtively professional and polite.
So all in all Im actually happy with the purchase and the money saved. It was a rocky road starting off, but now that the laptop is up and fully operational, it was worth the slightly hassle.
So overall my "Eurocom" experience wasn't bad, and the price for me was fantastic, so I honestly would still do it again. I basically paid $1900 total for a P180hm with an i7 2670, crossfire 6970m cards, 830 SSD 128gig primary HD, Seagate hybrid 750 gig Momentus XT secondary drive, 12gigs of Crucial RAM, BD ROM/DVD RW drive, 6230 wifi card, and Windows 7 x64 retail. So Im pretty happy overall for the "bang for the buck" I got. -
I loved my 9261 for what it was, a desktop replacement rig. It was heavy as hell but it did what I bought it for, perform. Sager did a pretty good job with warrenty while it was still active. Only problem I had was a loose video cable and now my 7950go has died but only after a few years of pretty intense, prolonged period of use.
All and all I think I got my money's worth. Only real problem I have is trying to find replacement parts for it now (OFF TOPIC: Anyone have a 7950go for the Sager 9261 they want to sell?). If I needed another gaming rig, I think I'd go for another Sager. -
I would buy it again.

I have three, so I guess I bought again and then again. 5 year old 17" still used as a DAW. That is one of those with the orange trim, still one of the best keyboards too. One crash in 5 years.
I should clarify that they are Clevos, not all three are Sagers, only that old one is the actual Sager. -
I will return to the squad when the EM series are released in a few months!
Can't wait to see optimus + backlit keyboard + price/perf ratio.
It will rock. -
Is backlit keyboard confirmed? And Optimus would be a somewhat welcome addition if only for battery life.
-
I'm keeping my hopes up, I might actually drop $2k+ on a really decent machine as it has all the features I need. -
I'm hesitant to drop too much since I get "the itch" every 12-18 months. I can't help myself. I try to stick around $1000 but $1200 is probably more realistic.
BTW when did you become a mod? Congrats... -

That was sexy. -
is what I read 2 pages back true? Malibal machines come from Eurocom? I've heard a lot of negative stuff about Eurocom, and I want to avoid them as much as possible....and I was planning to get it from Malibal because of the Canadian support...
-
What we do is simply report cases from Malibal customers as there was one who received Eurocom sleeves in the box with the purchase, or received a Eurocom Racer when ordering a Malibal Lotus. Nothing is on paper for certain.
There are other resellers that are in Canada as well, why not look at the reseller list to see your options if you wish to look for other options? -
I have had 2 Dell laptops, the first had a graphics card failure after about 1 month, the second had audio failure, then the fan stopped working. Needless to say I have done much research before purchasing my third laptop, and I am going with a Seger. I have experienced great customer service so far, and have read many positive industry and user reviews.

I've had my Mythlogic version of the 8130 for just short of a year now. In general I am very happy with the purchase however if I had to do it now I would also give strong consideration to the Thinkpad W500 but it would be very close between the two. The W500 wasn't available with Sandy Bridge when I got my computer so I got the Mythlogic machine instead. I am happy with my laptop, no major issues but a couple of minor gripes the Thinkpad handles better include:
a. The keyboard on this laptop is quite crappy in terms of feel. No significant flex but the keys bottom out all the time and just don't have a great typing feel IMHO.
b. I run Linux and would prefer being able to switch between the built-in graphics adapter and the Nvidia 460m. The Thinkpad has a BIOS switch that allows you to flip between the two options so I could run Intel with Linux at work for a lower temperature and fan speed and switch to the discrete card when booting Windows for gaming.
c. No support for a docking station with the Sager so constantly unplugging and plugging cables when I move to and from my desk.
These are mostly minor nits though, build quality of the Mythlogic laptop has been great, I take it to and from work every day in a backpack, bang on the keyboard eight hours a day, etc and no issues mechanically with the laptop, it all works as good as it did on day one. Also, and maybe it is the chicklet keyboard I'm not a fan of, but I find this one seems to magically stay cleaner then other work laptops I've had, weird.
I'll probably get a new laptop early next year and will give Mythlogic strong consideration again.
For Sager owners... what's your overall feel towards your computer? Would you have bought a different brand?
