I am really curious to know what peoples 3dmark06 are. Only for people with X9000 and 8800M GTX in normal settings 1280x1024. I myself have 9647 with windows vista 32bit and stock drivers 167.43

Hello! I had the exact same laptop as you ,with x9000 and 8800m gtx, and got around 9500 at 3dm06. I was able to overclock it until I reached 11400 in 3dmark(mostly gpu bios overclocking). Got rid of it cause i thought it was to small for me ;). I also used a bloatware removed Vista ultimate X64.. and 174 something drivers...
    now im getting a 20" :)

They go back to stock because you are not using modded drivers. Go to www.laptopvideo2go.com and you'll find updated drivers for your rig. Then you go overclock and the sliders will stay put.

Did you get the CPU to 3.45 wirth the default voltage?
Is it a retail CPU or an Engineering Sample?

oki i have learned how to use NiBitor and NVFlash but now i have wasted 6 dvds lol trying to get it to boot to dos..i think i got it now but when i booted to dos i went to the folder where i have nvflash and my new and old bios file. when i type nvflash --protectoff it says "No nvidia drivers found" do i have to add my nvidia drivers on that folder too?

There is no way to change voltage on the processor that I am aware of. I set the processor at 2.8ghz(using the multi option) in the bios and use setfsb to 230 to get up to 3.45.

There is no way I can get that high.

You must mean that you set the CPU at 3.0GHz in the bios (15x200) and then get to 3.45GHz using 15x230. If you set it at 2.8Ghz the multiplier will be 14 and 14x230=3.22GHz only.

Did the X9000 come with the laptop, and if yes which company? As mine I got from Ebay and cannot overclock well at all.

Must be my ram then. What ram do you have?
And is your CPU an Engineering Sample or not? (do you remember if it had 2.8GHz written on it or just the CPU codes?)

BTW paid $620 for mine. If anyone is looking for one at that price let me know.

do you have a usb stick.. imo i would do this that way... get the hp usbstick utility here: http://www.noxtek.com/panties/files/1/bootfromusbkey/SP27608.zip

then use these dos files here: http://www.noxtek.com/panties/files/1/bootme.zip

install and open the hp usb program with admin rights.. plug in the usb key. name the key whatever you feel like. i called mine simply "doskey" choose fat32 and check the format and create boot disk options, then direct it to the folder where you extracted the dos files. let it finish.

open my computer and go to the usb key device. now copy the whole nvflash folder to the key. along with anything else you want to use while in dos. reboot. go into the bios and set the usb key as the first boot device. save and reboot.

now you will have a c: prompt. you can now type dir\ and see your files. direct the command line to the right folder and hit enter. this should look like cd\<folder where files are> then hit enter.

now use the nvflash command to start it up..

Hi i have my X9000 set at 3.2 by Bios and oc'd my gtx by vbios to 600/1550/900
By incresing the FSB there is a increse in the bandwith for the pci express card making it a bit faster but also more unstable.(so i dont use it)
    With these settings i get a 11000 3dmark06 score.
Nice overall temp and i dont loose any warranty cuse the cpu is made for OC
    (unlocked bios).
Cant say the same for the gtx :D but with max temp of 67 im ok.
