Who did you go with as a reseller? And have you received your unit or indication of shipping yet?

XoticPC, ordered around the time they got the 7970's in, got shipping notice friday, should have the lappy tomorrow or wed. They've been great so far, and I'm content with the shipping timeframe considering their backlog.

That's strange, I placed my order back on May 31st, originally, and have received no shipping notice.

    Anyone else?

. The ONLY thing that keeps me from flying off the handle about that is that according to your sig you ordered a 9150 not a 9170.

I ordered back on 18 May, went Phase 2 28 May, and....that's pretty much been it for communicatiosn from Xotic.

Considering the cards have been in for two weeks now and I've got no updates I'm getting pissed.

I get that it's not their fault, but I'm frankly considering just cancelling outright and waiting until things settle down before tying up my cash as I think you should expect timely service and communications for a $2000+ product. So yeah OP, I'm in the same boat.

I ordered my NP9170 on June 4th and received it on the 21st. Didn't go through a reseller. Just purchased it straight from Sager.

Regardless of the model of laptop, the holdup was the graphics cards. Nonetheless, he received a unit with a 7970M graphics card prior to people who ordered them earlier. What's going on here?

Only thing I can think of is maybe there is some confusion between resellers and Sager? I purchased mine from Sager just for that reason. I didn't want a middle man. I wanted the company to ship it to me straight from factory. Either way, there is no reason why you all should not have your laptops yet.

That is exactly what I am thinking, trayeberle. You ordered nearly the same thing I ordered except you got mSATA SSD drive and I got 16GB of memory.

Do you love it? Approximately what was your total price? PM me if we aren't allowed to discuss price in open forum, I am too lazy to read the rules to confirm.

From what I have heard is that due to the backlog at Sager communication got pretty bad between them and resellers. You can imagine with all of the backlogs that there were a ton of emails flying all over the place.

This is also why others like Mythlogic that do their own build were able to get through the backlog a bit faster, because they did not have near the volume going through all the other resellers.

I knew going in mine would take a while, but expected it.

Placed the order through XOTIC on 5/31, updated on June 16th and got into phase 2, and still waiting...... I'm wondering if I should ask them tomorrow about the status of my order. After all, it has been almost a month now

Ordered a 9150 with Xotic on May 2nd - payment was received May 16th. Changed order to a 9170 on June 2nd (had to cancel original order). Changed a couple things like the SSD when they offered Crucial SSDs and the wireless card. Went Phase 2 June 14th, Shipped to Nebraska to avoid tax June 23rd. Hoping I get it this weekend.

You should.. Or you could chat with them.. I ordered Mine on 06/01. I asked them to charge my card on 06/06. Got the laptop on 06/21. But I live in the Philippines and my laptop is in my house in Nevada.. Will be asking someone to bring it to me next week. But It did get to my house exactly three weeks from date of order. And I also asked my rep from Xotic to try and have it sent before the 1st of July because after that, I have to shell out $250 for shipping. No free ride anymore.

And by the way, my rep and experience with Xotic PC were top notch. They didnt say that they could do it but would try because my laptop would ship directly from Sager. So I was already expecting it after or during the 1st week of July. And not before. But they did come true and I am very grateful! They have a very satisfied customer here. =)

I ordered a Np9150 with a 7970m and 750GB HDD... Those are the only add ons.. and no branding..

Feel free to shoot me a PM or email and I would be happy to see where your order is in the process. :)

The only reason a order would take longer with a reseller is if you order their custom parts otherwise they would ship on the same schedule.

I can only speak for us but Sager has direct access to our Sager Order Database so there is no delay in communications on our end to them. Sager has been the largest shipper and the only shipper of 7970's with the first shipment and week + into the 2nd shipment. Orders are going through production quickly and each day we are closer to being current, even with the amount of new orders coming in. Production is still working Overtime along many of our staff to ensure quick shipments.

Justin, can you explain why orders placed more recently are processed prior to preorders?

I just got the notification that my order has shipped and will arrive Friday. I hope you guys get the same notification.

It doesn't change the fact that I saw four other people who placed their orders after mine who had already shipped, which is kind of being treated at the elephant in the room, but if that is my only concern, maybe that's pretty good.

Looks like we were in the same batch, despite being 9 days apart on ordering. The only thing I can surmise is that despite what Hutsady told me about payment, machines do not begin construction prior to cleared payment.

It's that, or a huge clusterf$&% over at Sager or Xotic PC.

I ordered on 6/10. At the time I was told the cards were arriving the 12th and a new order should ship within 7-12 days. On 6-14 I was told "you will be contacted once a GPU has been allocated for your order (estimated 24-72 hours)." I haven't been told anything new since except when I contacted them a couple days ago to see what was going on and at that point I was told the order hadn't even been submitted to sager yet because sager had requested that xoticpc hold off on submitting more orders. But that, that wouldn't delay the order since the build time was shortening to compensate. Still seems a little off to me but whatever.

I'm not mad at xoticpc persay and I'm not looking to cancel my order or anything, but the delays and more importantly the change to those delay timeframes are annoying but not really xoticpcs fault and the lack of communication is a little frustrating and definitely xoticpc's fault (tho understandable in the cluster that I'm sure is going on there right now).

But I'll tell you what, if come Thursday I haven't been told something new and positive or been offered some sort of compensation for the delays/poor communication (even if we're only talking free faster shipping, some cheap spiffs, whatever) i'll be one very less happy and very less sympathetic customer than I am now. Hell depending on my mood and what xoticpc tells me at the time i might just cancel the order and either go with a cheaper reseller (which I opted not to originally because I thought xoticpc had a better rep for customer service than the company in question, but the communication issues with my order concern me) or pay the premium for mythlogic.
