My NP5760 shutdown improperly today and when it started up and gave me the menu to start Windows normally, safe mode, etc...
But when I tried moving the selection using the arrow keys the laptop freezes, and I have to manually shut it down and let it go the 30s so it starts Windows Normally. Even if I click any other button like F8 or anything it causes the laptop to freeze while booting up.
But it's ok when I'm at the vista login screen.
Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I'm thinking of upgrading my video drivers but if something goes wrong and I need to boot up into safe mode I don't think I'll be able to do so..
Edit: just tried to get into safe mode but pressing anything other than F2 on the Sager Loading screen freezes the laptop. I can press keys once the Windows loading bar is displayed but I don't get an option to load into safe mode when I click F8...
I was really hoping to upgrade my video drivers for Crysis but I probably shouldn't risk uninstalling the drivers right? Since sometimes people get a black screen and I can't enter safe mode to rollback...

remove and re-seat the keyboard and its cable.
read this for instructions:
I have went over this a couple of times.
Make sure the system is off. Not plugged into AC. Remove battery for precautions.
Its simple for Clevo keyboards. All you need is a basic (small) flat-head screwdriver.
There are 4 pieces of retractable plastic holding down the keyboard.
Look at the picture that I have attached.
Just push the plastic pieces gently upward (toward the lcd screen) which would retract them to release that part of the keyboard. This should only take less than 30 seconds.
After the keyboard is released, you will find a cable under it (connects to motherboard), you can remove it if you want, just remember its position.
Thats it.

Thanks I'll try that.
But the laptop's keyboard works properly once Vista loads.
Also I just got an external keyboard and the same thing happens when I press F8 on the external keyboard, the computer freezes up.
