Greetings. I have a m860tu for 4 years and my gpu has just died. I am looking for a new one to replace it. From here : http://tim.id.au/laptops/noname/clevo m860tu.pdf , i can see that i am looking for an mxm III video card. As i can see i have these options :

    1. FX 3700M | eBay
    2. Nvidia GTX 260M G92-751-B1 1GB For Dell ALIENWARE M17X M15X VIDEO CARD MXM3.0 | eBay

    or (and my favorite)
    3. New Nvidia GeForce GTX 560M 1.5G GDDR5 MXM 3.0 Video Card 260M 460M upgrade | eBay

Do you think that my poor laptop is able to support the 560M?

    Thanks in advance

None of those will fit. You need a MXM 2.1 III.

damn all those faulty 9800 cores blowing up :)

i had to replace my gpu last year as well (replaced with 260m).

The link niffcreature posted to fx3600m is a good deal.

I purchased a FX 3700M from luisqcosta for my M860TU, but turns out that I may not need it. Will confirm if I can sell in a few days and will keep you informed via PM.

Οκ, i received the 3700FX from Tanith (again many thanks) and everything works just fine. I also undervolted the core from stock 1,03V to 0,95V . The card is solid steady and i managed to lower the temperature , almost 15C (now max 80C).

I wonder if is it possible to flash the card to 280M GTX bios. I tried 2 bios from here NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 570 560 460 ATI Radeon HD 6970 6950 6870 5970 :: MVKTech :: On the Edge of Technology - Re:Who can share the BIOS of the GeForce GTX 2x0M versions!? - MVKTech Support Forums , but during the process , the nvflash says that there is a problem and nothing happens. Any ideas?

    GUYS I NEED MAJOR HELP!!!
I tried again to flash the bios with a bios 280M stock from here : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 570 560 460 ATI Radeon HD 6970 6950 6870 5970 :: MVKTech :: On the Edge of Technology - Re:Who can share the BIOS of the GeForce GTX 2x0M versions!? - MVKTech Support Forums . This time , the flash has done. But when i did a reboot there was only black screen even in post. I heard the windows boot completely , but the screen remained black. I think i bricked the 3700FX. I tried to boot with an external screen via dvi and via hdmi but with no luck. I tried to reflash the card to the original bios (backup) , with black screen and the nvflash -4 -5 -6 backup.rom command , without been able to see what i am writing , and during the process i hear to short beeps (i think that's an error right?)

    PLEASE HELP

If it still boots to Windows then you can keep calm, relax, breath deeply.
You need to blind flash your card back. It's not bricked.
Try to press Y and enter when you hear the beeps.

You could write a batch file to perform the flash automatically.

    Any help with that?

    edit: I made the autoexec.bat and inside i used this : c:\nvflash -4 -5 -6 -a -y 3700.rom (3700.rom is my backup).

When i boot , i can see the lights on my usb flash blinks for 2 sec then my laptop reboots with nothing chanced. What now?

    edit 2 : SUCCESS!!!. I used this : nvflash -4 -5 -6 -y 3700.rom but i had to type a YES , then a Y and then a YES again!!!

Now , does anyone know where i can find i 280M.rom that works?
