    Hello notebook techies

My friend was thinking of buying is first notebook and wanted to get a Clevo D901C model, I tried convincing him into getting an AW m15x because it was powerful and so muhc more portable. Well he had a few questions and I had a few questions myself:

    1. Is there a site or store who does financing on a Clevo D901C model? He found a european site but it was overpriced, they priced a system their at $5800ish when Xotic PC had a Sager of the same model at $4100ish

    2. Why is the dell upgrade from a 8700 videocard to a duel 512 sli 8800gtx (1 gig of memory) is $1000 and other sites price them as $1600+ more for the same upgrade, can someone explain this to me? Why is dell cheaper?

    3. This question is for me guys, I am at the verge of purchasing a AW m15x. I originally wanted to purchase from Xotic PC a Sager 9262 but I don't know if it was too big to lug around at my university. Is it to big to Lug around in my backpack with 2 or 3 books if I bought a HUGE backpack?

    4. Could the Sager 9262 fit in a laptop backpack?

    5. If so, would it be too heavy?

    6. Is it required to buy a seperate cooling system for the 9262?

    7. Is there heating issues with the 9262? From the reviews here and online, the M15x has NO coolling problems.

    8. Is it worth getting the sager 9262 for the extra videocard VS The AW M15x? I know the sager uses desktop CPU's so its faster, but is that extra video card worth the extra 7 lbs weight and size of the sager?

    9. Would it be an adventure taking the 9262 with me to the school library and to Starbucks? lol

Thanks guys apprecaite all your info, I was set in getting an AW M15x this week sometime but now because of my friend, I am only 98.1% sure I still want the AW lol

    1. Valid only for Europeans as they have to pay VAT anyway.
    2. What other sites?
    3. Probably not, but you will feel the extra weight.
    4. Yes.
    5. Consider it's around 12 lbs without the 2 - 3 lbs power supply.
    6. No, but a laptop cooler would be great (Zalman NC-1000/2000).
    7. No.
    8. Not necessarily comparable. The 9262 has a desktop CPU, so therefore it will kill the M15x.
    9. Again, consider 5.

the 9262 is a great desktop replacement but it kind of lacks in the laptop department. its not very portable maxing at about 12+ pounds and its definitely a back breaker. it does have quite a bit of power, probably the strongest on the market right now. there are no cooling issues with this laptop and its relatively quite. the battery life also lingers around 1 hr - 1.5 hr depending on ur power settings.

bottom line. if you want power and slight moblilty, take the 9262 but this DTR doesnt seem very practical to take to classes. if you want power and portability and flashy lights that pwn the retenas (tee hee), go for the AW.

5793 is also sumthing to look out. you can get a pretty decent price for the same if not more power than the AW. but its a 17" and weighs about 8.35 pounds and has a 2-2.5 hr bat life.

If you are in the US definitely the vendors to look at for best prices and service/support:
    ... etc..

here is a small list of Europe Clevo sellers:
    (UK)
    (France)
    (NL)
    (Germany)
    (Sweden)

As for financing, most of these vendors are small, so do not have financing, but...
I would strongly recommend to order the notebook that you want with a credit card that has a low APR or promotional deal (0% APR for a year, no payments for 12 months, etc...). Then you can pay it back at your leisure without having to worry too much about the interest. And you can transfer the balance from one card to another if the promotion ends on the first.

Sorry, I do not know of any Finland vendors.... because I do not know the language, it is hard to search for a vendor.
