After researching for many retailers to get the clevo, i finally decided to get one at the end of the month from flawlesscomputers. Their service and assistance truely makes my decision to choose much easier!! :D

Now my budget is USD3000. The notebook i customised cost USD2610 with specs as followed

    -core 2 duo 2.16ghz
    -7950gtx 512mb
    -2gig ram 667
    -100gig 7200rpm HDD
    -Wireless
    -Windows vista home premium

Do you think it is worth it to get the notebook fully painted for 400? I like black laptops and do you think painting it totally black is good for the laptop?

Will there be any disadvantage like scratching easily and fingerprints etc?

I cannot find any pictures of an example of custom painted sager 5760 to make my decisions easier. Only voodoopc provides some examples. And i do not have a liking for silver laptops :p Also hows the quality of the paint for anyone who had seen one?

I think that it is worth it if you have the budget for it.
I love getting things customized, and something that you will be taking around with you and spending alot of time on for the next few years definitely helps to be pretty, and you enjoy looking at it.

if you want nice custom paint jobs, also check out:

they will custom airbrush for you. And the paint should be sealed with clear layers to prevent paint scratching off. you can always ask for pics, they should have them.

smoothcreations also offer Clevos with custom paint jobs now, but I think their prices will be high.

If I remember correctly, Xotic's prices on paintjobs were really reasonable. And they look really good too.

hmm xotics offer the same price of paint jobs as flawless i think. 1 dolar difference only.
400 for flawless and 399 in xotics
so if i want custom paint jobs, xotics is more recomended than flawless?

They are both good resellers, I would recommend to ask if there is a separate warranty of the custom paintjob from each reseller, because you want to make sure that the paint holds up.

I know that XoticPC has a 2-year warranty for their paintjobs.

Don't forget hypersonic pc, they provide paint to your pc. Although, I thought they used smoothe creations. I don't know if they still use them, since smoothe creations now sells pcs.

We have a 3 year warranty on all paint jobs. Also, our paint is done by a third-party company who specialize only in painting desktops and notebooks.

IMO - No. It's personal preference, but the 5760 looks good the way it is, with the brushed aluminium cover. And if you're looking for a wow factor, the 5760 has plenty ;).

    Put 400$ on options/accessories instead.

    It's just my personal opinion.

BTW, Xotic, along with most others, use the same third-party company.

Flawless - If you are using the same company we do, you may need to correct your warranty statement.

Custom painting puts a nice personal touch on the machine. It really depends on where you weigh custom design and performance in your budget when getting ready to purchase a custom machine. Call us for special promotions on painting or skinning.

If anyone would like to see more pics please email and i would be happy to provide further info. Fingerprints are more recognized on a custom painted machine, but as Gophn states a couple layers of clear coat are applied over the finished paint to protect from scratching.

The 5760 looks good stock from Clevo, here is a recent 5760 done "Audi TT Blue Pearl". Custom painting makes a big difference in the look of your machine if your budget allows. :)

Justin, before you make comments regarding what our warranty page says, first look to see if it's still the same. This page was revised entirely 2 days ago. Also, the warranty on the paint is through us, not them. And it only covers cracking as any other blemish is the customer's fault from normal wear.

I do not think the M570U needs a paint job. It looks fantastic the way it is. If I were to do a paint job, I'd probably want to do something weird like the color of the old commadore 64s. That wuold be cool to give it a matte-textured coat of paint.

Here are some pics of a 5760 that just finished today. It was painted Piano Black with custom artwork on the back lid. We have not finalized the maranello engine on the 9750 yet, but when we do i will gladly post some pics. Enjoy! :D

The pics don't do it justice, but you get the idea..

Okay, I agree the black just rock :). You have some interesting selling arguments right there Justin. Though I still think 400$ is a lot of money for look ;).

thanks for the comments :) Custom Painting can be a little expensive but the machine can be viewed as not only custom built internally but also externally. Plus they look really cool in person. :D

I promised i would post pics of a NP9750 that was recently done with Piano Black and a maranello engine blown up on the back lid.

If I can send a hint to everyone (Including resellers)....

Metal Lids rule...but then we don't paint metal lids...we do something better. Ancient Swedish Technology (According to my employer).

After CeBit maybe I can show you some example of how much better metal is for certain custom laptops. Airbrushing, vinyl and most other methods have trade offs. Our process for metal lids is stunning. Exact digital imaging with no vinyl cut lines.

LaptopDesignUSA, got a Linky? I will take delivery of my 570u next week. Right now I'm going the sticker route, but would consider a decent paintjob in the future.

What's the cost on an existing notebook?
that is, i send you mine for painting.
Or is the turn around time so long that i would go thru withdrawal without my baby? ;-)

The only addition in cost for sending in your own is you would have to pay shipping both ways. Turn around is approximately 7-12 business days. You would probably go through withdrawal, I know I would ;-)

Yeah I don't think it's worth it. If I had the extra cash i'd invest in dual harddrives or just use the extra money to buy all the accessories like a cooler, a bag, a mouse, speakers, etc.
