Well i just got my new metabox (aussie version of sager/clevo) 8690 and its a nice little machine, i'll definantly be looking into those fan fixes that people have talked about, and I hope that the ATI powermizer will be turned on soon.

Now onto problems that I am having with the notebook almost instantly.

First is just something which I solved myself and I thought new people may find interesting, the touchpad has a bunch of shortcuts, and can zoom in and out on your browser go back on you.
This was happening to me and I didn't even know what I was doing to make it work, hell, I still can't reproduce some of the things that my trackpad was doing.

So if like me you just want to turn them off, its under.
Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound - > Mouse -> Finger Sensing Pad -> Configure

Now onto the asking for help part, I like some function keys, so I really don't want to get rid of them all, but I DESPERATELY want to turn off Fn+F4 (sleep), so if someone can help me with this it would be much appreciated.

Why on earth you would put the sleep function right next to the keys that are used to close tabs I can't fathom, or in my case even messes me up with trying to close windows, as I'm just not used to such a small keyboard (came from a full sized keyboard on a 17")

Any help turning this function off would be useful, why do manufacturers insist on giving you 17 options to do the same thing? ^_^

just go to control panel -> power options and tell windows to do nothing when the sleep button is pressed ;)
