I have a really weird little blob of pixels that always seemed to 'flicker' but today really turned into a problem.
I'm not sure how to explain so I'll do my best... In my screen there appears to be a set of flickering pixels that perfectly rectangular and have varying degrees of 'stuck'.

I'm leaving them on white images right now hoping they turn back, but what is this? Has anyone seen this? I want to try to take a video because in all the time I've owned PC's I've never seen anything like it. It's weird. It almost looks like the damage you would see if you hit an LCD panel and it didn't shatter but the discoloration is still visible- but in my case is perfectly rectangular, if that makes sense? Except I know it wasn't damaged (as it hasn't moved from my desk since last Sunday) and that I was using it before I went to eat, came back and it was there. A restart did nothing. I'm going to try uninstalling display drivers and doing a clean install.

Interestingly enough, cycling through various colors seems to show that certain colors do not cause the defect to appear, and certain colors are far worse than others. I also have no proof what-so-ever that this is in any way linked to G-Sync, it's just the first time I've ever had a laptop with it, and am almost immediately experiencing an anomaly.

Playing a video of extremely bright flashing colors from the entire spectrum seemed to have good luck in getting rid of the issue... But what if it returns? What should I do? The laptop is basically brand new? I want to see what kind of options exist for the warranty...

I would maybe just keep an eye of what you are doing if it comes back, to see if there is any kind of trend as to what you were doing, if it appears. It could be worth checking your display connection cable inside the computer, to make sure it is seated properly. You could try updating drivers, or rolling back to previous drivers, and see if that would make it go away if it comes back. You could output to a monitor, just to make sure it isn't showing up there as well. Things like that just eliminate possibilities of what it not be, that is causing the issue.

Couldn't hurt to try to take a pic or video of it, if it happens again, and maybe contact the place you purchased your computer. Normal dead pixels might not be always covered under warranty, but if there is a batch in a rectangle, then that doesn't sound like just dead pixels though.
