Are the graphics card for g-sync models and no g-sync models the same?
If no, What is the diference?

    I am out to buy a clevo p775, I already have a 980m from a msi gt70 I upgraded.
    The GT70 didn`t have g.sync
So I am thinking about buying a p775 with a 970m install my 980, to save som money.

No, I believe they are different.

With desktops, the G-SYNC module is on the monitor, while in laptops, the module is on the GPUs.

thats correct, u need a mobile gpu with a specific hardware ID that makes it gsync capable. aside from that, ull also need a licensed gsync display and a gsync capable system bios, then ull be good to go.

even so, ull still be able to attach and properly use a gsync capable external display with the p775 and the 980M from the msi machine :)

If you get a program like GPU-Z, you can see the Device ID in it, which you might be able to find out a little more info from I believe. But no GT70 has had GSync in it, so I don't think that one would allow it as far as I know.

    Than you for your reply

The gt70 is no longer working :/
I bought the 980m from woodzstack, maybe he can say if it supports
    g-sync or not.

    Is -gsync any good btw?

Depends on who you ask. Some people will say it is great to help with getting rid of screen tearing. Some people don't really see the point to it, if you aren't really seeing any tearing in the first place. I like it, as it can improve appearance without really causing a hit to performance.

I suppose if you get a model with 970m with G Sync, you could see if you like that more than your 980m without it from before. Otherwise, you could try to sell that 980m card you have to hopefully cover the difference to upgrade to a 980m with G Sync on a new model, and eliminate having to worry about it.
