The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

Yeah, he uses it all the time. Nothing some Q-Tip and alcohol can't fix. It is non-conductive (electrically) so not the end of the world. If it fixes the problem, would be worth it.

K5 is messy if you want to remove, so just put enough to cover the gap. Do a "dry run" without thermal pad first before applying K5 to judge.

A good thermal pad at 0.5mm is going to do the job well enough, the paste is not a needed pain IMO.
