Heya'. Something strange just occurred and I haven't been able to find a proper fix yet. I restarted my Clevo P870DM-G and now the GPU reads as this: GPU-Z.gif

    GPU 2.gif

I imagine it's because of a software incompatibility that I can't seem to recognize. I've tried swapping the GPUs (980m SLI) and uninstalling the drivers. Once I try to re-install them the Nvidia installer doesn't seem to recognize them. At first it was one GPU (which I removed) but now the second as well. I think it might be because of the recent 4K upgrade I did and perhaps a software/bios issue because there are no artifacts on screen and the GPUs weren't under stress. But when I try to game it's really choppy and lower than 10 FPS. Also no Nvidia control panel or recognition of SLI besides in device manager. Has anyone gone through this sort of this before and can tell me if there's a way they fixed it? The 980ms still seem to be recognized in the bios. Any softwarre based solutions out there? Thanks guys.

You are running g-sync GPUs with a g-sync system BIOS with a non-g-sync screen.
That's the NVIDIA drivers way of "thinking" you might wanna try to cheat and in return locks itself into low power state.

You can flash the non-g system BIOS but will have to Mod the driver .inf manually to install them from that point onward as the HWID combo won't be recognized.
But at least it will work normally.

Thanks a bunch! I knew it was something along the lines of that (G-sync vs non G-sync). Do you happen to have a guide on how to perform the mod, Prema?

    - Flash the non-g BIOS from the PM
    - In the drivers "nvcvi.inf" change all "1617.0871" lines to "1617.0870"
    - Boot with driver signature enforcement disabled to install the driver

    ENJOY! :)

You are a king among kings! Thanks! I'll in-turn update my upgrade 4K thread with your info just in case others run into the same issue as me.

Heya. I flashed and the firmware (It's still listed as Clevo p870dm-g as the MOBO but I guess that wasn't supposed to change?). I did everything mentioned (disabled driver signature, modded file with the values you mentioned and ran and did a clean install) but I'm still having this issue. Strange enough, the second GPU returned to normal but the main STILL won't correct itself. :p Interesting enough when I looked at it in GPU-Z the specs returned to normal but it's still listed as "Microsoft Basic Display adapter" when I took out and replanted them in SLI (I guess the SLI bridge somehow effects the reading and shows the true specs). The corrupted one in the master card slot. I restarted and it's back to only seeing one GPU as the Microsoft basic display adapter. Would Nvidia really punish a costumer THIS MUCH just for changing screen on a laptop when desktops depend on G-Sync monitors only? Lol. Have any other methods or steps I might of missed, please? I've also noticed I can't change the screen brightness with the keyboard shortcuts.

Have you tried removing all the drivers and starting over?

Yes they lock the protection on G-sync down, that's nvidia for you.

Pretty much. Unless you mean non-nvidia drivers. I guess it's similar to how Apple has been sabotaging costumer's devices with third party upgrades and repairs through software bricks. I hate how in this day in age companies never allow you to truly own your device. -_-

If it still says P870DM-G in F2 BIOS menu then it didn't flash.

It has to report as P870DM with the BIOS I linked you to...

EDIT: Please use my own flasher from the new PM, instead of the stock one provided before.
