Seems like my 7970M has bit the dust. Been receiving BSODs non-stop and removing the drivers for the 7970M so far appears to have worked. Reinstalling AMD Drivers causes BSOD mid-installation. I'm thinking a GPU replacement is needed short of replacing the entire 5 year old laptop. What is currently the best GPU out there available for the P150EM?

The 980M using the Prema EM system BIOS.

Agreed and if you can't afford it, the 970M is also a great upgrade!

680M if you want to stick with OEM firmware. 970M or 980M if you flash system with said Prema BIOS.

If memory serves correctly, the heatsink will also need changed if moving over to an NVidia card (someone please correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly).

You can use new thermal pads and place them to use it, however the SM series heatsinks are a little more efficient and would save this process so if you can find one I would grab one.
