Gpu been flickering and freezing lately giving me weird driver issues..hooked up HDMI today and refused to boot up giving me black screen. Would let it sit for a few hours which led me to boot it up into windows but if I did anything gfx intensive it would freeze and then same problem. Did the "BAKE" trick applied new thermal and reattached..getting this white screen now on bootup with no other activity than one beep every few seconds.

    Any suggestions?

You didnt bake it, you roasted it.

Time for a new laptop. Or at least a new card. Whichever comes cheaper.

im guessing its not connecting somewhere along the line but thats just a guess.
a dead card will have the lines like mine below so no signal is getting or coming from the card.

So its possible that it is not connected properly? Could improper thermal paste cause this also? Does yours beep every other second?

    replied to your pm.

mine died in march as i was playing my first 5 minutes of crysis 2. all i got was a sound loop and a frozen screen. hard turn off/on and lined picture above is what i was left with.
luckily i was covered by warranty so my 9800GT was replaced with a better 260gtx

i didnt use the baking method so all i can do is guess on what it could be. hopefully someone in the know will be able to help out further.

I did a bit of reading and the average temperature for those with your GPU is 80-85C when the card is under full load. I would suggest running a game such as Crysis and carefully monitoring your temperatures while doing so. As long as you don't exceed 90C I would say your fine.
