This probably is normal but just wanted to check.

I power on my machine with fans on auto and fire up Cupid hardware monitor. My GPU temperature steadily rises until within a few minutes it hits 62 degrees and the fans kick in at low speed. It then cools and usually settles at <40 degrees.

Is this normal? Is there a way to set it to have low speed fans as default and step it up from there if it's gets too hot? Is it possibly because the GPU is in the secondary slot? As I had the second card removed from the spec and it seems they took out the one from the primary slot.

    thats normal.

firmware will turn fans on when temps reach a certain temp, then turns off when its cool enough.
