Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knew the performance difference between these 2 555m cards. Will the DDR3 555m found in the Clevo W150HR be close to a 540m? Or is the difference between the 2 not really that noticible?

Already discussed in Clevo W150HR thread:
As to 555m DDR3 128 bit versus 555m DDR5 128 bit... it's 144 cuda cores against higher core clock speed and memory clock. Haven't seen any benchmarks tete-a-tete though...

It's totally counterintuitive, but the benchmarks are surprisingly close

from what ive read on wikipedia gddr5 is based on ddr3, but its optimized for graphics cards. so gddr5 is not ddr5, which doesn't exist yet btw. so the gddr5 should only be slightly better. make sure its not gddr3 though cause thats based on ddr2.

From the benches I've seen, the 128-bit 555M only lags behind the 192-bit version by around 10-15%.

Ah, thanks guys! With a little overclock and it might become a stock 192-version too! Will be enough power for me. :)
