    Hi guys !

I've been having an issue this past few months with my laptop.
Everytime I try to play a demanding game (like GTAV or Battlefield 4), my GPU temps will go to 93c very quickly (few seconds) and then the GPU will throttle (425mhz more or less, with downs at 200mhz).

I've tried underclocking the GPU but obviously it doesn't much of a difference as this may be more related to the cooling of the laptop.

My laptop is always raised when I play.

Would anyone care to share how I could make my PC cooler ? I clean it pretty regularly, and re-did the thermal paste a few weeks ago. Maybe I should change thermal pads ? If so what would you recommend ? (I'm using Phobya pads)

    Thanks !

The cooling should be fine to handle demanding games when everything is as its supposed to be.

You mentioned you already cleaned it and redid the thermal paste. You could try another paste job and a different type of paste. To little or even to much will cause high temps. You can also raise the back a little bit, about the size of a pop bottle cap and that can increase air flow.

And always make sure you are using it on a flat surface, never the carpet or bet etc.

Thanks Hutsady :) The PC is already raised by 2-3cm. I also redid the paste as you said.

I'm using it on my desk !

I just tried replacing the pads with thinner pads and it seems to work pretty well. The raise in GPU temperature is really slow now. And it peaked at 80c after 15min of gaming.

I will try some more and report back :)

Raising slow with a peak of 80C sounds good. Temps tend to plateau in 15mins or so. If they stick like that then sounds like you did a good job on it.

Yes sounds like the pads were a little off, but that looks good now. Good job :)
