It's not possible because of construction if you put desktop 980 in it she will close near MXM slot

I hope they will make some 19 inch clevo with dual 980 200w in one laptpp with sli and new type power supply at 660w

But if you want desctop sli in laptop then best way for you buy msi gt80s

He has dual 980 desctop but not like in clevo p870dm

    He has 980 180w they are about 20% weaker then 200w 980

If somebody don't know on market available two types of desctop 980 for laptops

980 180w with extra power supply

    And

980 200w with extra power supply

MXM is a more compact form of the standard PCI-E connector with extras for things like display outputs.

You can't convert between them and keep the internal displays for instance.

Oh I thought you meant somehow breaking out the to an actual desktop 980 as you can see from pictures the MXM card hangs over and can't sit next to each other, that's regardless of the fact that having two 200W cards in the chassis is not a good idea.

The m5500m should do the job if someone mods in a SLI connector and run it via custom vbios. However you will have a 4000+ GPU budget at that point.
