I have been having this problem for a while and was hoping that it was going to go away by itself however it didn't. I want to use Msi afterburner to overclock my graphic card however the msi afterburner program itself lag very badly while i was configuring and it even gave me a temp of 0. Trying to do this in nvidia inspector also resulted in the same kind of lag.
I don't know what to do. Any kind of help would be appreciated.

Kepler does not equal Maxwell. Expect 6-8 months before the new code has been cracked. NVidia changed everything with Maxwell. It's something they started with 880M (I still swear they were test cards) but they changed the vbios because of the rapidly changing energy Flux to keep energy costs down with a stable frame rate.
Where you want to look?

MSI Afterburner works fine with my Maxwell 970m. No lag or crashing. Maybe try a different version? I'm on 4.0.0.

I use either program as well and it seems fine.
