What don't you understand? The G51 from Asus arrives at Xotic PC pre-configured in a retail box. It's not economical to remove the cpu for a downgrade, as it leaves Xotic PC with a low end oem cpu with little value, that no one wants. The consumer would actually pay extra for a CPU downgrade.

If you want an upgrade, I recommend doing it yourself, as you'll save money and get to keep the original cpu.

Does anyone know whether the Asus G51 has MXM 2.1 or MXM 3.0b??
I'm assuming its MXM 2.1 just like the Sager 8662, correct?

    No, it's a proprietary MXM-like format.

    Okay.... what does that mean?
I'm basically wonderin' if one would be able to self-install next gen GPU's into this thang

It uses a special Asus format for its GPU; the only chance for an upgrade is if Asus releases a sucessor to the G51, that uses the exact same format.

it jsut seems odd that they would skip so many cpu's espessially since the BB one has those really cruddy cpu's. i dont see how they can be pre-configurable and yet configurable on their website. And I would concider it an upgrade not a downgrade, to go from the q9000 to p8700, at least for me, im not much of a multitasker.
