    Hi ppl,
I have an GTX 680M with 306.02 drivers + Intel latest drivers but... when I'm on battery the GTX 680M doesn't turn off like my previous 7970M, because of this I only have 2:20mins of battery...
Is there any way to forge iGPU? Or is this issue drivers related?

    Thank you,
    Best Regards to all

Nvidia inspector is worth a look.

    Hi,
Mine is balancing between P8 and P5 on battery, so the card is "awake". Do I need to configure some "special" setting on Nvidia Inspector?

    Thank you,
    Best Regards to all

It gives you an idea of what is going on. In the nvidia control panel you can set all programs to use integrated only when you need the best battery life.

Using NVIDIA inspector is also counted as using the NVIDIA GPU because it monitors the dGPU. If you want the dGPU to turn off you have to make sure there's absolutely no programs using the dGPU (including monitoring programs). You can go to NVIDIA control panel and enable "Display GPU Acvtivity Icon in Notification Area" to see if anything is using the dGPU.

Do you have steam running? Steam is defaulted to use the dGPU, you'll need to change the setting for steam in NVIDIA panel to make sure it uses integrated.

Thanks for the reply :D Now I understand better what to do: If I need max battery life I will simply go to Nvidia Control Panel and put on Global Settings: "Integrated Graphics" :D

I don't have Steam runing but that advice related to the GPU activity is indeed very useful! Thank you

    Thanks,

    Hi again ppl,
Sorry to revive this thread but I'm still having battery life problems... At the moment 78% - 1:40mins... I don't think this is normal.
The attachment shows my settings (Nvidia Control Center, Intel, Nvidia Inspector).

Note: I also have the Control Center from Clevo in Power Saving and the OS is also in Power Save mode.
Note2: I noticed that although the "GPU Activity Icon in Notification Area" does not show any activity, the GPU goes between P5 and P8...

    Thank you,
    Best Regards to all

Have to make sure you don't use any monitoring program, including NVIDIA inspector.

Thanks :D It was Throttlestop that had Nvidia GPU module active... Now the GPU doesn't wake up anymore. In a few days I will try the laptop in battery mode :)

    Thanks ppl for the feedback,
    Best Regards to all
