    Hi everyone, as a new owner of a p150sm, I have a possible newbie-question.

Can I get 120hz to work with the gtx780m from the displayport, with 120hz- display?

On nvidias page it says that the gtx780m supports 120hz, but I can't find confirmation from clevo that I can get it to work from the displayport with dp to duallink dvi- adapter.

If anyone has experience with this or knows for a fact that it can or can't be done, I would appreciate the help. Thanks!

I think the question would be whether the intel built in graphics adapter can support 120hz since that will be the one that all your data will be going through.

I would say most likely yes, it probably will. However, I have never tried it or read about it. But given that we could output 120hz on old Pentium 1 systems with 2mb graphic adapters...it would seem unlikely that things took a turn for the bad xD. However, this is all my opinion, best get an informed opinion if you are interested in splashing some cash on a new screen.

The hardware supports said refresh rate. Your DP to DVI adapter should work fine, as long as it is an active adapter.

I was able to get a 144hz- display to work at 144hz, but I can't get a 120hz display to work on 120hz, only 100hz. Anyone usng gtx780m with 120hz- display?

This is basically what I sent you back to PM but I'll post here for others too.

    Here is the funny thing.
Since I've had this machine and my 144Hz monitor my options were the same, 100 or 144 no 120..

I noticed the other day actually 120Hz is now showing.
I am not sure if it was a Windows update or Driver.
I've recently updated my Intel & Nvidia drivers in of course Windows has it's regular updates.

My current Intel driver is 10.18.10.3412 and Nvidia is the latest one.

I am running Windows 8.1 and prior to the other day was always running at 144 but now am happy to say I am on 120Hz.

Good luck though and share back if you find what it was. I had long given up on it and stopped looking but when doing something the other day actually saw the drop down and was shocked to see it finally lol

Thank you for the answer! I'm glad to hear that it is possible to get it to show :D I'll try that intel driver, as I have tried newest and others, also I have newest Nvidia.

    Windows 8.1 here also.

Good news for people with the same problem! It indeed was a driver issue. The intel driver 10.18.10.3412 fixed the problem. I had 2 different customer support guys from Intel trying to figure this out, but no luck with them. Thanks to Bryanu for the info on his situation, helped to solve the matter :)

PS. I also noticed that the " stereoscopic settings" - box is missing, so maybe the whole 3d- thing was part of problem.

I would add that if you had been working with Intel that you let them know that this version fixed it so hopefully they can keep the fix in newer drivers.
If you had a newer driver and it didn't work that would show that it will be broken again later lol
Many times I see them fix something and break it later and no one ever reports it :/

Right now another issue is the iGPU vBios. I am on 1035 but 1036 and 1037 both break external monitor support during post when the bios is not set to old school mode...

Anyway, glad to hear that fixed it for you :)
I suspected it was Intel always.

The 3D I never could get to work right neither. Funny thing is 3D works best with 120Hz so if anything you would expect the other builds to not have had 3D option with 120Hz missing hah.

I informed Intel straight away after I found out that this driver works, as I had 2 different open tickets with them so that they can close them. They also already responded that new driver will be added to download center in near future.

Intel was my supect also, but they kept telling me that my monitor doesnt support 120hz, as Intels sysinfo says that my monitorsonly support 60hz@1920x1080p. And that was the problem in my opion, that the driver didn't recognize the resolutions properly. But luckily it's working now.

Not that I would need 3D but funny how one thing works, other goes missing :D
