I should be getting my np9150 soon and I was wondering, would it be possible to game on my 3d tv? Would I need some sort of software or could I just plug and play?
My build is:
-i7-3630QM
-GTX 675mx
-8 gb ram (I don't know if that matters)

It's possible with both Nvidia & AMD cards. For 60 Hz 1080p 3D you need a DVI cable. HDMI 1.4a works too, but only @24Hz. If you drop the resolution to 720p, both cables are capable of 60Hz.

Most 3d tvs are not designed for 1080p 120hz so watch out.

How would you do it with an AMD card? I haven't seen any settings in the catalyst centre for my 6990m
I have a 55 inch LG 120hz 3d tv - it has it's own option to convert to 3D but I'm not sure how true 3D that would be. Tried it on a friends xbox 360 on halo which had it's own settings, it was AWESOME -

I think DisplayPort is capable of 120Hz in 3D as well, but I've read that dual-link DVI is ideal. -

HDMI 1.4b does include 1080p 120hz in the specs.

1080p 120hz is used for 3d, it gives 60FPS to each eye.

You need to buy TriDef when using an AMD card.

With Nvidia cards for gaming unless you buy a nvidia 3d display then you need to buy software for gaming 3d too (bluray 3d playback is included free though).

And I just want to confirm, 3D play is possible with an HDMI, just not at 1080p?
Guild Wars 2 in 3D(but with drool coming out of that mouth)

Why is DVI better than HDMI!? That sounds crazy

Also, not sure if you would enjoy Guild Wars 2 in 3D. It is going to stutter like hell. Since you're on a AMD card, you need to use TriDef or iZ3D which is dead for 1 year now. And TriDef is incredibly CPU limited... with GW2 being a rather CPU intensive game, I can only predict you will be in the ~20FPS area. -
Ekulz I think is the one with the AMD card. -

Just see for yourself how it works. I would not play competitive Multiplayer games in 3D as you get a disadvantage due to the FPS hit, but you can really enjoy 3D in singleplayer games. Skyrim for example works like a dream. If you plan on playing that game, you should check out Helix Mod (for fixing shaders being in correct depth): gamelist - Helix Mod
Also, your 675MX overclocked should reach 680M levels. -

I don't think I would enjoy 3d gaming, I would likely just enjoy a higher refresh rate in 2d.

And 3D quality is also subjective on a case by case basis, varying on the viewer's stereo vision.
I have very poor stereo vision, so I save myself the extra $5-$10 when going to iMAX.
