    Hi,

What happens if I game on an under powered PSU?

I have a p150em and have bought the cooler master 120watt slim psu.

My wattagemeter says I am using around 160watt on the original power brick. Havent tried gaming on the slim adapter yet because i dont know what the consequences are.

    Thanks in advance!

I tried that a few months ago when I left my proper adaptor behind. The PSU just cut out. I'm not sure if that is typical, but would make sense as it's better to cut out rather than overheat. It did work afterwards, but won't supply that much power.

I agree. I just thought I'd give it a go at the time. It's fine for normal use. Doesn't get too hot or shut down, but it is good being able to use more compact PSU if you need.

You can look up mods. Changing the plug on a Dell slim 240 watt. That's what I would do.
