guys, i know u've been all waiting for that gpu..and it seems that Toshiba will have it available before Clevo..

    http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/pdet.to?seg=HHO&poid=383432

..moreover it comes at $2500 with c2d 7300, 2GB ram, 2* 160GB (but only 5400 rpm..), HD-DVD :)eek: ), 1GB Robson memory, tuner and weights less than 10lb..

..ehhh..it's becoming SO MUCH HARDER to wait for m570ru..especially with those dual drives..could replace it with two 200GB 7.2k rpm Hitachi's..

..still, i'll wait for 590ru to be available through our local (USA) resellers..i"ll just wait for that gpu..and some benchmarks to see if it is really worthy replacement for 7950gtx ;)

    ..life S-U-X !!
    :D

btw. my 1st post, but i've been reading this forum for over 6 mos now.. ;)

PLEASE DONT MOVE THIS THREAD TO TOSHIBA FORUM!!
i know it's not about clevo/sager system, but it corresponds to the most-awaited update for 570ru ;)

I dont think? that the M570RU has the option (atm) for dual HDD's does it? I thought that the second HDD carrier was going to be something for later?

i was thinking the same thing - that it had two internal mounts for HDD's..but now it looks the oposite..:/
..can anyone with contacts @ clevo/sager confirm that? Justin? Paladin44? Gophn? (order is completely random..all of you guys seem to know A LOT when it comes to notebooks.. ;) )

    thx in advance!

If you stay around long enough you'll be much more knowledgeable yourself :)

Heck I've been around for a month and I know 3 times as much as I used too :p

3 times isn't enough to describe the growth of my knowledge during the research here... because when I started I had ZERO knowledge! lol

RockDirect (UK Vendor) has the 8700GT 512MB listed as a video card for the M570RU (Xtreme 770) :)

yeah, i know...it's just that i really don't wanna wait until August (that's when it should be available worldwide from Clevo)..and that toshiba is here..so tempting ;p

..still, anyone knows what's going on with these dual drives on m570ru? they've been saying that it will be availabe, bun now you cannot have it through pre-order..even HDD bracket is not available..and i wanted RAID 0 on these 200GB 7.2k Hitachi's...<yummie>

..my pc died like 2 yrs ago, i dont want to wait longer than September.. ;p

    1. The Sager NP5790 does not have the 2nd HDD option...this has already been asked and answered in another thread (doesn't anyone 'Search' anymore?)

    2. Just because Toshiba is advertising the 8700M doesn't mean they are shipping it. When you find someone who actually HAS one come back and let us know...until then they join Rock, Eurocom, Alienware and others who are famous for advertising what is on the drawing board as if it were shipping already.

Does that sound like it had an edge to it??

Good...I have just seen too much of this advertising what they hope to have someday. What bothers me most about it is that so many innocent people get fooled by it...I hate it when that happens.

    yes, edgy...

bobeer, rest assured, the edginess is directed at resellers/laptop makers who promote a product that is not available.

Toshiba cannot sell a laptop with the 8700m gt when nvidia hasn't even officially released it yet.

    check this up:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=137415

..this notebook has been available since last thursday from Best Buy in NYC..i had my hands on it for few min (one at 5th ave/ 40-something street)

..there are only three reasons right now why i did not get it:

    1. it's the lower end model ~$1999, better one is ~$2499 - same graphics, but other things are limited..(especially CPU, and it can't be replaced..)

    2. i'm still hoping that clevo m570ru will be worth all that waiting..

    3. it's incredibly THICK :/

..so 8700M GT does exist and you can get it..just not from Clevo..yet :p
..and thx for comments Donald..trust me, i'm not a newbie in PC/notebooks/software market and i don't post BS online

..IT'S NOTHING PERSONAL DONALD!! i'll still probably buy my Clevo m570RU from You or Justin..guess i'll toss a coin :p

And that's at 1280x800... Ouch. And the G84 (8600 and 8700 series) is known for scoring pretty well in 3DMark06, but not being able to keep up in actual games (see my post here)... Man, it's looking worse and worse for the 8700M GT. :(

I'm convinced that I should wait until december.
