    Hey All,

I'm eyeing the Sager NP8358F2-S (Clevo PB51DF2) on gentechpc, but I've never heard of them before and have no idea how reliable they are. Anyone have experience with them?

    Thanks!

Hi all - I'm really hoping someone can help me out here.
I recently purchased/pre-ordered a very expensive laptop from GenTechPC (cost over $5K) and paid for it by wire transfer as I am from Canada. The money was received the same day I sent it and so I sat back waiting to hear when it would be ready for shipping. After a while, I contacted ASUS myself to learn that even they did not have a "release" date yet for this specific model I ordered. With this said, I contacted Ken and request a full refund as this laptop is desperately needed for my business practice. I advised Ken that I would select another model from his website and make a new purchase of a model that was indeed available. All was good, or so I thought. After days of excuses, my purchase has not been refunded as yet. Ken appears, at least for the moment, not to be returning my e-mails and I cannot reach anyone on the 800 number provided on their website. The truth is that I really thought this was a reputable and decent vendor/supplier and placed my faith in ordering from them. This purchase equates to over $7,000 dollars in Canadian funds so obviously I am a bit anxious and frustrated with the lack of response lately and certainly with the lack of results concerning this wire transfer. What can anyone share with me in terms of their experiences with this company? Did I make a serious mistake bringing my business to this supplier? Is my next step to report this fraud to State officials and file a report with the FBI? Any recommendations of who to contact or what you suggest is most appreciated folks. Thanks for your time and consideration.

    Craig

You wire transferred correct? Then contact your bank. That is going to be the best and quickest way to fix the issue. And in the future if you need a computer for business quickly you should NEVER buy a pre-order system.

Gentech has been around for many years so I reckon they will not disappear with your money. Likely they used that money for other purposes in the meantime and now they have a hard time returning it. They probably need to make more sales before they can pay you back. Either way, keep bugging them and contact your bank. Sometimes the banks can get your money back. I was in a similar situation a few years back and my bank managed to get my $400 back from a retailer that wasn't answering my emails or phone calls.
