Getting P150EM soon, need advice

I'm finally going to be replacing my 4 year old laptop (in sig). My finances coming in will be $1612 but I can go above or below but preferably not too much above, maybe no more than $200.

What I definitely want:
-Matte Screen (don't need 95% gamut)
-i7 3610QM
-8GB 1600MHz
-SSD
-Intel Centrino Ulitmate-N 6300
-Windows 7 (Probably going to get Pro since I use that now, but I need to check to see if I actually use any Pro features)

Not sure about:
-Which graphics card to go with
-If I should get a a Blu-Ray reader or not (not sure what software, hopefully free, I'd need for movies, can someone please answer this for me?) (I do not need an HDD in the optical bay)

Graphics card needs: be able to play SC2 on high/ultra 1080p, play games like DCS A-10C, BF3, ArmA II, etc. at 1080p. And I'm looking to use this computer for at least 5 years (so hopefully still be able to play games at 1080p 5 years from now, even if it is on low settings).

I really wanted to get an Nvidia GPU. I've had AMD for the last 4 years so want to try the other side of the table. And even with the price vs performance of the 7970M, the issues I'm seeing with driver support as well as Enduro issues are worrying me. With Kepler out, I really want a Kepler GPU over Fermi. I'm not sure if I should order from a company offering the 660M. There is no way I'm paying for the 680M. The thought has crossed my mind of just going with the 670M and hoping to be able to upgrade to a 700 series when those arrive since I assume they will all be Kepler but of course no guaruntee they will be the same MXM platform. The last idea is to just suck it up and get the 675M and stick with that for the life of my laptop. What are your recomendations? Also, how is the driver support for the 600M series?

Does anyone know the Cas Latency on the 8GB 1600MHz RAM from Sager? Because I'm thinking of getting my own RAM dimms. I'm not sure if there is anything specific about buying laptop RAM for a P150EM but I was looking at these. I'd like to get the G.Skill RAM if it will work right.

I'm not sure if I should go with either the Intel 520 or Crucial M4 from Sager or if I should buy my own on Newegg instead. There are quite a few drives from OCZ and Crucial and such that are $200 for 240-256GBs which is great. I've seen that the Crucial M4s have much slower write speeds than the OCZs and Intel 520s so I'm kind of leaning away from Crucial. I've heard OCZ has also had reliability issues as well. If anyone has any recomendations regarding getting an SSD and if I should do it through Sager or buy seperately.

I know it is a lot of questions, but all help is highly appreciated!!!

Okay, if you want to use this laptop for five years please get the 7970. It will keep you happy the longest, and the driver issues will be fixed in time. Really the only true problem seems to be Enduro picking the intel graphics as the default so you have to force it to do the 7970, but I'm sure they will fix that issue soon.

A SSD should be easy to install, so just buy whatever is cheapest and has good reviews (you can check slickdeals everyday until you actually get shipping info, then you have to buy what you want but it should arrive in time).

I've never heard a complaint about sager ram either, so long as you get 8GB.

And the bluray player is up to you, but in order to play bluray movies for free and legally you have to jump through a lot of hoops. Its not fun.

The SSD will push you just to your budget, but should be fine.

Oh and I recommend Xotic PC, they have the best prices and good support.

 

I asked Larry@LPC-Digital if they included Blu-ray playback software if you get the drive and they said yes, and seeing that LPC-Digital is just a Sager reseller, I'd imagine you'd get blu-ray playback software with any Sager reseller (Xotic included)

go aftermarket SSD, you won't notice any difference between any of the drives in day to day use. I'd recommend the 520, M4 or 830 (samsung). Waiting for the Samsung myself.
