lol yes i totally agree, on the console the best thing in bc2 is using the helicopter in onslaught to road kill the bots while they are parachuting down.

I'm pretty sure you don't. I remember being the first gamer I knew to buy the original Voodoo to make Quake look so good. I've nearly played them all. Wolfenstein 3D, Duke Nukem, Doom, Quake, Unreal, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, CoD, BF, Halo, Gears of War, etc, etc. Quite frankly, multiplayer hasn't been the same since BF2. Less and less players, partly due to these new games and their pansy 32 player limit or less. For the most part, multiplayer has declined since MS pushed all the gamers to consoles. It was a serious mistake for them. People bought Windows PCs for gaming. Without good gaming, I eventually migrated to Mac for real work. BF3 is the only game that gives me a reason to buy another Windows box. The memories... of pwning those swarms of medics running to try and save one guy with the assault grenade popper on the Karkand map in BF2! LOL. Dice knew what they were doing when they called BF3, Return to Karkand. Definitely to play on nostalgia, and they succeeded. Karkand, to this day, is still probably the most played multiplayer map ever of any game on any platform. I think I wore out a several PCs on that map alone. -
Another great memory was pwning all the enemies coming down the hill in Karkand with a sniper gun. I got so good, people complained I was sniping or playing assault too much so I switched to playing vehicles and just dominated that hill and then they got really enraged! LOL! Good times. I sometimes log onto BFBC2 to enjoy a few pwning sessions, but the thrill isn't the same. Dice, hurry up and bring on Karkand again!

I have bf2 but I only ever played it on my d820, with all settings low, and 1920 x 1200. I should try it on my new system, but I never really got into that game anyways, because my computer didn't like it. It would always lag and then be fine the next second, regardless of graphic settings.
-
All bf2 needed was a bunch more maps where helicopters didn't dominate.
I don't care about the graphics being a lot better.
I want better gameplay not graphics. -
Yeah BF2 had air superiority issues. I always wanted them to add a kit for the anti-tank class to have a shoulder mounted stinger or something to help level the playing field.
-
lol ergo the tracer and Carl Gustaf missile, in bfbc2, of course in nam u just shoot em down with ur pistol.
-
No reason to play BF2 over BFBC2 now. No one left playing BF2. Quite frankly, BF2's graphics are now dated. I remember Karkand map being the most popular because of lack of aircrafts.
-
did they have AA guns in bf2? cause on everymap if there is vads the only way of getting past is by destroying it.
also i want to install the 1.03v bios on my card can anyone help me? -
-
lol on xbox 360 for bfbc2 its almost impossible to find a non hardcore server that is empty.
-
Just to whet everyone's appetite.
Battlefield 3 vs Battlefield 2 Comparison Video in High Definition ? G4tv.com -
yeah but thats not comparing the multiplayer, which i have yet to see a good video.
-
Would a gtx 560m be able to play it? on say Med settings around 70-80 fps :O? or am I being to hopeful
-
no i think that probably could. i think they will have game more refined by the time it is released.
-
Also make sure you download mod that increase your viewing distance, that really make the game seem very wide open. -
can u do that on bfbc2?
-
-
just got an email that you can now pre order the old republic, but you will have to pay a subscription. it better be less than 4 a month or im not getting it, although i am intrigued because i did really like the kotor series, too bad they canned kotor 3.
-
hey these are the alpha recomended specs, like i said its not the full game so it might get more optimaztion.
•Windows 7 or Vista (SP1)
•EA Origin
•CPU: quad core 2.0 GHz or faster
•RAM: 4 GB or more
•Hard Drive: 7.25 GB free disk space
•Video RAM: 512 MB or greater
•DirectX 10 or 11 compatible video card with latest drivers (AMD 11.5 or later, nVidia 275.33 or later)
•Sound: DirectX 10 or 11 compatible card
•Internet: broadband connection -
I know this is too early to tell, but think the 470M SLI will handle the game well?
-
Ultra: 12 fps
High: 49 fps
Medium: 80fps
Low: 114fps
Hope that help! -
lol how do you figure that... i figure it should be less intensive than metro or crysis 2, probably similar to bfbc2 espescially considering that bc2 is a console port. also the xbox version of bf3 will run at 720p at 30fps, so it should do well on the computer, espescially since 360 hardware is so dated.
-
So it funny cause people are gearing their pc/notebook for BF3 when Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 is what they should be gearing for -
nah i should be good, my 3d mark 11 score on my 485m is better than a 6990m so i should be set.
-
Look like Battlefield 3 default FOV appear around 90 to 95 which is what I use for Bad Company 2
OH my post is #485 LOL!!!
I would take the 485m (appear to be $120 dollars cheaper) over the 6990m every time if I could have had it at my door at the same time you got it. I believe you have it for 2 weeks now and it still another month before the 6990m will ship not to mention the time it take for it to ship which is another 5 to 7 days. So you got close to 2 months before the 6990m come out. That a lot of playtime, and you bought it at the right time mate! -
Too bad u can't change it in game, it would be good for sniping or aiming down the site for long distance.
-
Too bad u can't change it in game, it would be good for sniping or aiming down the site for long distance. Also make sure the render ahead limit is set to 0, as it will give more fps, and less lag.

do tell im pm!

Bah, EA Origin. What a pain in the neck. EA is definitely screwing with gamers. Did you see their lame @zz response to the steam issue? I gotta wonder what Microsoft response was when EA brought up the need to connect to users directly for patches (aka marketing, getting your personal data so it can get leaked on the internet once EA gets hacked) on the xbox. EA response was definitely from some sleazy marketing mouthpiece.

bf3 alpha testing ftw! https://bf3alpha.battlefield.com/ check your email to see if you are invited!
-
so if you pre-order the bf3 limited edition on EA's "Origin" you get to pre-download the game, and you get early access to the bf3 closed beta in september. Im excited, but pissed off, because i went to go buy medal of honor limited edition specifically so i could do the beta, the games not bad other than the non working single player. I also pre-ordered the limited edition of bf3 on Origin, and it comes with some extra goodies.
-
Since it won't be available on Steam for the foreseeable future, does anyone know if Origin is required even if you get a hard copy?
-
Password resets don't work, game downloads don't work. They bounce you around 10 versions of ea.com when you're looking for support.
I hope Origin isn't required for the disc. -
i think it works fine, but i don't use steam, so i wouldn't know the difference.
-
Steam is a breeze. Three clicks and I've bout a game and it's downloading.
I hope EA realizes that and let's BF3 back on Steam, because with the user experience what it was for me today, I won't be buying it on Origin. -
lol i think its funny, steam sort of has a monopoly, so i guess you could say that ea is just sticking it to the man.
-
Besides, Steam is really god at what it does. And it doesn't charge tax like Origin.
I've also used GameStop's (Stardock's) Impulse and GFWL. Steam just makes it so easy.
I'll probably end up getting BF3 on disc, anyway. -
i saw on another thread, if you pre order bf3 you get mass effect 2, or moh, or dead space 2 for free on origin.
-
I really, really, really do not want to be bothered by using Origin. I'm just praying hard copies don't need Origin, or EA caves in on using Steam. -
But monopoly, they're not. You can buy Vavle's games on Origin. That's not monopolistic.
Now, EA withholding its games from competing services *cough*STEAM*cough* is monopolistic. (I know you can by EA games on other services. My point is merely illustrative.) -
If Steam is the 800 lbs gorilla, EA is the 150 ton blue whale.
