If you can spend even just a bit more, I suggest you go with Audio Technica ATH-M50s. Amazing headphones for almost any use. Look up their reviews.

Oh why'd you have to go and do that, I'm already way over budget lol Never tried studio monitors before though, are they good for gabber and dubstep type music? I'm worried the 'authentic' sound isn't going to be as bass-y as I want it to be

I can highly recommend the m audio av40 as speakers. Some of the best bang for the buck out there imo.

    Nice purchases, hehe.

I've been doing the same lately for the arrival of my new machine too. I got the G500 mouse instead of the G400. I got a SSD and a Lite-on external DVD burner. I'm going to use my current notebook cooler, the Notepal U2. I might look into getting a mouse pad too after seeing this thread. As for speakers, I'm just going to connect the laptop to my home theater set-up.

This is the backpack I got, except I bought it for less at Costco. They had more colors not shown online too.

Once I get it and test it out Ill let you know the temp differences for sure. From some videos that Ive seen and reviews that Ive read. That particular fan has been measured to lower the temps by like 5-8 degress Celcius. Not sure how true that is. But Ill let you know.
