Love the orange. I didn't at first, but then I looked at more pictures. I wanted the black lid anyways.

How is the matte WUXGA screen in terms of contrast, brightness, and viewing angles?

Just got a call from UPS to let me know it's coming tomorrow. I'll let you know what I think of the screen when I get it.

I also got the orange trim because I wanted the black lid even though I wasn't crazy about the orange look on the pictures I saw. Once I got the computer, I actually like the orange. The pictures I saw made the orange look like a very bright orange color, but in person, it has a more brass/copper/metalic look rather than bright orange.

Recieved my notebook today...............woohoo ! And haven't done a lot with it , other than set up, vista tweaks, etc.

But so far VERY impressed with the build quality !

BTW, orange trim is more of a copper/bronze metal bezel that looks classy !

Will follow up soon with pics of the custom skin I had applied, definetely feel I have one of a kind !

    GARGRGREGRR#!!! RAGE

I should have received mine today. The ups guy came at 9:30. I was woke up at 9:50 with a note from the UPS guy. Everyone else in my house was up, but somehow they missed the UPS guy. I could barely sleep last night, cause I was so excited to finally have a laptop again. Now I have to wait til monday. :(

I received mine on wednesday, and installed the windows 7 beta on it, so far i LOVE it, everything is perfect.
the only weird problem im having is that there is one device in my device manager that doesnt have any drivers, but it is an unknown device and i have no idea what it is to download the drivers for it...
also, my windows experience index is only a 2.9 because that is how low they gave me for primary hard drive disk transfer rate..which makes no sense considering i have 2 gb of turbo memory and a 7200 rpm hard drive

Just came from a glossy-type screen, HP DV9000 series, and to be honest, can't tell much of a difference !
So far the 5793 has been money "Well" spent !
Like I said earlier, only had it 1 day and am very impressed with the looks and build quality of the 5793!
Have owned a Dell and HP and have seen the gateway fx and Toshiba Qosmio X305 series, in person and none of them compare in looks or build quality of the Sager 5793 !

And a heads-up here ! I'm sure it's been mentioned in these forums somewhere, but I've used AVG free for years now and have had great success, so last night while setting up my notebook , I installed AVG Free !
Anyways, later started downloading updates and game patches and every time, dowload would complete and I would look in the location or folder I downloaded to and..................no files !
After a little detective work, found others who had installed AVG Free on a Vista 64 bit system were experiecing the same issue ! So I un-installed AVG, then installed Avast and Walla...............problem solved !

I've noticed my nvidia driver, ver. 7.15.11.7625 seems to be a little dated and that Nvidia has newer a driver , on their site, 179.28 and have also noticed and even later driver, 181.20 , whql certified , at laptop video to go.

My question is , should I update my driver to one of these and if yes, would it have any negative effects on my blu-ray play back ?

there should be no affect for video playback.

you can test though to make sure.

make sure to fully remove the previous driver before installing the new one.

Grats dude. I was originally going to order the NP5793 yesterday, but my father swooped right in and to my mom everything was "standard", convincing her that all I needed was a 250GB HD so I can play my games faster. So he told her to go to Dell and she was going to order me a S17...

    Basically, if it wasn't a NP5793, I don't want a laptop.

    Congrats dude.

I've owned an HP and a Dell and believe just the build quality of the 5793, alone, is far surperior to either of these two brands ! Not only that but te bang for the buck factor is superior to what you'd get from an HP or a DEll !

Btw, last notebook, HP DV9000 series nvidia gpu took a dump on me and HP refused to fix it !

I came from a maxed out HP DV7T. HP computers are garbage. Absolute garbage with abysmal support. I always build my desktops and now I'll never buy a "name brand" again.

Those are the exact reasons I just purchased a Sager 5793 and I would never purchase a pre-built desktop !
