So today I forgot the freakin' Logitech G900 dongle so I have to use my touchpad, I feel like I'm paralyzed using it but I thought oh well, time to get used to it.

The thing is, when I am trying to scroll down on webpages in my browser, it is sometimes zooming in.

so I thought let me disable that zoom in/out gesture. In the control panel, there is no Synaptics icon, so I went to mouse, but there is no Synaptics tab as well although the driver is installed.

I then went into the folder where Synaptics is installed but there isn't any EXE that launches the settings.

I'm going nuts here, where are those settings? I am using the latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver v19.3.4.31

Does Control Panel > Mouse > Device Settings show anything? (That's how I got my Synaptics settings screen)

that just takes me to the device manager properties of the touchpad where you can disable or enable it or update the driver :(

Are you using Win10? It could be possible that Win10 just downloaded driver itself without GUI launcher etc. So download the driver elsewhere and install it.

P.S. One thing I really like about my touchpad is... that it has hardware Turn Off button next to it.

good suggestion, I just checked the driver in device manager, it's the same one I installed. Windows 10 couldn't have installed an update since this is the latest one. So I reinstalled the driver anyway but still the same thing.

I will try installing an older driver now

The older driver for my P870DM Synaptics Touchpad Driver v19.0.24.1 finishes instantly and doesn't actually install anything. So I gave up on this and went to the convenience store next to me and got me a Logitech m175 for $15 USD.

    Can't use this crappy touchpad

    My experience:

Windows 10 > NOTHING from synaptics gets install control panel wise for some reason, no matter which driver I try.

Windows 7 > Full synaptics control panel with all of the options it should have.

Still haven't figured out why. Also I feel like the touchpad on the P870DM was better than the DM2/3 in terms of the whole zooming in instead of scrolling thing.

Thanks to @Mr. Fox, he showed me that the Touchpad Settings are under PC Settings > Devices > Mouse & Touchpad

In Windows 10, the Synaptics Driver doesn't install its control panel anymore and the settings are now in the screenshot below.
