I'm looking to replace the thermal pads on my GPU memory as they are wearing out a bit. Anyone know any good places to buy in the UK?

    Great! thanks for the link.

Anyone replaced pads on an 8800M GTX or similar on this machine (M570RU/NP5793) and know which thickness to use? Looks like either 1.5 or 2mm to me

Edit: or your 280M in 570TU would probably be the same too...

I... don't remember. But if they are too thick the pads can be squished to about half their size using a hammer. I think the best way to know is to measure the thickness of your current pads and buy something which is either the same thickness or slightly thicker.

I used the pads to cover the vRAM and the underside of the GPU where the core and vRAM is. I also had to use the hammer.

Well, I've bought 2mm, I'll report back when they're installed (they're squishable anyway...)

What brand pad did you buy? I'm looking to lower the GPU temp in the M570RU with 8800M GTX I just built and OCed to 540/1350/864 at 1.05V.

I just tonight got a CM Notepal U3 and it dropped GPU temps under 100%+ load (furmark) from 81C to 77C. Not a great improvement but the Notepal U3 cost less than $30 US shipped. It is small and light (portable) has 3 configurable 80mm fans.

Also, I have been using Shin-Etsu G751 based on this comparison. Yes, it is over a year old, but I can't find anything newer as comprehensive. I'll qualify this by saying I am far from a TIP guru.

Finally, has anyone bought some copper sheet(s) the same thickness of the thermal pad then used TIP top and bottom of the copper sheet(s)?
