Hey, I have a clevo w230st which is now unfortunately broken. I had the 1 year limited warranty from sager which unfortunately expired (I bought from reflex notebooks) a month ago. I would really hate to send it to them now because shipping is almost $400 there and back (since I have to declare customs as well and get the thing insured) and I would still probably have to pay sager to fix it. My question is, is there another place I can send my laptop in canada to get it repaired? I've sent it to my university repair center already and they can't figure it out.

telling everyone the problem first might help others advise better.
when did it happen, what was you doing at the time, had you just updated drivers or software, is it totally dead or a black screen with fans and lights working.

If you can let us know what is wrong as MrDJ asked we can suggest a part and those are pretty universal. There are a few things like Motherboard and GPU which could be trickier to get though.
You could buy a replacement and install it yourself.

thank you for the support guys. I have another thread where I outlined the problems:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sag...g-when-i-play-games-faulty-thermal-alarm.html

tl;dr: computer starts making regular beeps the instant I turn it on, I'm pretty sure it's not an overheating issue (temperatures are 50-60). It used to only happen when I used the nvidia gpu but now happens all the time. It seems to work fine right up to the point where it shuts off. Right before the sager logo pops up, some white words on a black screen flash on for a fraction of a second.

Man I wish I could help you. I'm having some screwy problems myself and it's baffling people too. Good luck! Sorry I couldn't do more than offer that.

if there's a good place to send my laptop to or any more suggestions I'd be glad to hear them still. I spent around $1500 for this so I'm not going to be able to get another laptop anytime soon (bad planning on my part).

Contact them and see if they will help you out still. You may need to pay, but due to owning their product they might be able to work like a repair shop. Alternately, you could likely sell the machine's parts on NBR Marketplace and buy a new machine if you really need to.
